I know this is long over due, but seeing that we are now fast approaching the 30,000 mark (and proud of it), I would like to say......\r\n\r\nHi and welcome. :D\r\n\r\nMy name is Jeanette and I\'ll be your, crazy due to lack of sleep, admin for as long as I am a member of Circle of Moms. I am a mother of 3, all under the age of 7.\r\nEverything is a new and strange adventure when it comes to you and your child entering a new stage in their life. It can be hard and sometimes overwhelming, especially when dealing with more than one child. It is wonderful to have so many willing to help one another and I am elated to see the board so active.\r\n\r\nTo anyone new at this, please feel free to start a new thread and post a response to others. This community is all about our new adventures and our past experiences of raising children ages four and up. \r\n\r\nI only ask that everyone be kind, caring, respectful and helpful to all. I hope everyone enjoys this community as much as I do. Have fun and meet new people. I’m looking forward to chatting with everyone.\r\n\r\n\r\nJean

Thanks for the welcome. I know what you are going through. My kids are now 10, 9, and 7. 18 months between the first two and almost 2 years between 2nd and 3rd. When mine were almost 4, 2.5, and 5 months my husband was deployed for two years. During that time I worked full-time as a middle school teacher and lived over 8 hours away from the closest realative. He is gone again now. But, this time I was smarter. We live only an hour away from family and I stay at home. The extra time and activities with my children is worth giving up the extra income. I wish I could stay home until they graduate.

I have 2 boys 9&5 and I've had to deal with bulling with my oldest child and tring to explain to him why someone would want to treat him so cruel. My 5 yr. old has now started to wet the bed again.I tried water restiction, but he loves water so much he sneaks in the bathroom at night and drinks from the sink.

Hi I am a mother of two. My olders is 6 years old and have just started first grade. I am trying to help him understand his homework such as math. When I try to explain something to him, he says that he is listening to me. But when I tell him to do what I just told him, he forgets instantly. Is there an easy way to help your child study for math, science, social studies, etc without both him or I getting frustrated?

Thank you for the welcome. I joined because my neice sent the invite and thought maybe I could find some help with my kids on here. They range in ages from 21,20,8 & 6. Yes I know that is a big difference. The 2 oldest are my step-son. The 20 yr old I adopted when he moved in with us. It is somewhat hard to raise one from the age of 10 to starting with little newborns. But hopefully I can find some help.

This is my first time on here and I am glad I found it. I need all the advise I can get. My kids start school tomorrow and the drama is going to begin. I think this is a great site, just found it yesterday, through an invite. I have an 11 year old son, who just started Middle School, I also have about 250 other kids ages 5-18 for appx 6 hours a day. I am a school bus driver, and I love my job. I have never recommended any kind of "parenting books" before, but I would like all the mom's out there to check out this book I picked up this weekend at the library. It's called Raising a responsible child, by Elizabeth M Ellis. It is not a new book.. I'm not trying to advertise for anyone, but if you read the 1st chapter your hooked. anyway, I'm excited to get hooked up with all these mom!!!

thanks, i think you are a strong woman to have 3 kids under age 7. i have 3 aged 10, 6 and 4 and they drive me nuts. But the fact that they all go to school has helped me greatly because i dont have to worry about them much during school days. Holidays are both enjoyable and stressful especially when i cant get time off to be with them. I encourage myself tho' by the fact that they are growing up. Thanks again for this I look forward to learning more

Hi Jeanette and all the moms, I'm mom of 2, daughter, Kasey 7 and son Hunter 6 and step mom to Chad 21. We keep busy with soccer, softball, baseball and gymnastics. I was recently laid off my corporate job and now am living my dream of being a stay at home mom. I'm still adjusting to the new schedule and starting to work my business from home. Lots of sacrifices now for the future. Wanting to connect with other moms with elementary school aged children on various topics including chores, behavior and fun free activities.

for Rachel G- hope this helps, I have been thinking about this too. On one hand my child id not as old as yours (she is 4), I do have family that has 8 years between the two of them and this is what they had to say..... The younger one.. love the fact the she had an older bother that she could do things with growing up they played games and had someone to talk to when they needed. The older one like when they where young with being able to play with her, but as they got older he did like the fact that he had to take she every where he went. Both of them told me that they love having the other round and could not see their life with out the others help, or an only child. And one small note from my Aunt the mother of the two, love have the gap. said she would have it any other way. Well I hope this helps you as much as it did for me If you have any more questions that I maybe able to help you with just let me know. thank you Cindy

Hello Jeanette-

I would like to say thanks for having a place where we can come and talk. I am a mother of a four year old gril that is my life. We wanted to have more but we would also like to get back on our feet (get bills paid off and move out of the mother-in-laws house). I have been upset about My child " getting to old" to try and have any more kids, but after reading some of the replies tonight well I can see that age gap didn't stop any of the others, so maybe we could re-think this a bit more. thank you so much Cindy
