my daughter is in second grade she is a very good reader she knows how to add,subtract and is getting good at regrouping and telling time.Since she missed a lot of school last year from being sick the school wants to hold her back.I dont think this would be a good idea at all but i fell like i dont have a choice in the matter. i fell like she is way to smart and that she needs to go on to third. Please if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it..

As her parent you have the choice to either hold her back or send her into 3rd grade. I would schedule and appointment with the teachers and principal to see why they want to hold her back and you can voice your questions and concerns and they will hopefully give you satisfactory answers
