My 6 year old always ask questions that I have to look up the answer to, tonight he wanted to know how many trees there are in the world, and what octopus's eat? Thank goodness for google, what questions have your kids asked that you have had to look up?

Most children start learning to use computers in Kindergarten. The next time your son asks a question introduce him to Wikipedia. It is a great tool for children to find answers for their curiosity.

Best to teach him how to find his own answers, with you beside him. It's a great way to encourage independence instead of him believing that "Mommy has all the answers"....as you are well aware that you do not. Use this opportunity to help your son develop independent learning skills. It will serve him well for the rest of his life!

None that I can think of off the top of my head. However, to be fair I also have 4 kids ranging from 15-newborn so I have probably answered every question at least 3x's already. LOL!!

LOL too funny my kids ask me more in depth questions like "mommy why is the sky blue? Why is orange called orange?" Now i consider myself pretty educated however I have no answer to these philosophical question other than thats they way God made it then they ask Why did God make it that way? And it goes on and on and on........ lol

I ended up buying a used encyclopedia set from library so I could be prepared for the questions. When we are in the car, we keep a notebook for questions I can't answer, then we look it up at home. Yesterday, my son was questioning everything about yeast (we were making bread) so it was great to pull out the Y book and look it up together. Researching is a great skill to teach your kids, especially now when they are so hungry for knowledge.

My son asks lots of questions but usually we are in the car and if I don't know the answer then I just say I don't know. Then we both normally forget all about it.However one day my daughter came home from school and informed me the the word "dude" meant a camel's willy (penis). I told her it wasn't true and it was just a silly urban myth that had been going around since I was at school. Well my kids didn't let it go and they kept laughing and going on about a dude being a camel's willy until I could bear it no longer. I googled it. Well, although it isn't actually a camel's willy, dude is another word used to describe the foreskin on a camel's willy. Ha! Praise Google!!!
