I have a daughter who will be 8 in August. She has not had an accident at night for well over a year, but last night she did. Is that something I should be concerned about?

I agree with the others. She could have been in a deep sleep or dreamed she was in the bathroom.

I don't think you should be concerned for one night if it keeps happening than you'll probably want to take her to the pediatrician. My 6 year old has an occasional accident when I forget to remind him to go pee before bed.

nope not unless it starts happening for a couple days then I would be thinking most likely bladder infection and go talk to your dr.
