Hello Moms with Teens and Preschoolers!!

I have to apologize to you all! I started this group in the hopes of being able to share my experiences in having teens and preschoolers with you and to hear your stories and experiences. It was also my hope that we could join together and help each other get through some of the unique situations that only go along with having a household with potty training and wiping noses, as well as braces and teen hormones. Good times, right?!? However, I started having some health issues last January which resulted in my having two spine surgeries last year. Because of pain issues, as well as the emotional toll that went along with them, I haven't been on this group since then. Thankfully, I'm feeling much better and would love to see those of you who haven't visited in a while come back and start sharing again.

My kids are now 18, 14, 6 and 4. My oldest is getting married in May, yet I still have a preschooler at home. It's kind of hard to wrap my head around that sometimes!! I hope that you all will come on back! I would love to hear about your struggles and joys!

Talk to you all very soon!

Cheryl

well i just joined yesterday and im very glad you are feeling better, i know too well the hardship of back pain and surgeries. My children are 16 and 18 months, so i am dealing with the teenage issues and toddler ones as well...but its ok, children are my joy but i find it very nice to come to a place and be able to find others in the same situation as me....i was feeling very alone. Anyway, im looking for opinions on curfew, my sixteen year old is constantly wanting a later curfew. Right now it is Nine, I guess im afraid to give him a later one due to the surroundings we live in and the dangers in our area. I know you have to let them grow up but how do you know what is right???Hes a good boy but he is easily influenced and deals with adhd too. Any suggestions??? shelly

Hey Cheryl,

I too have an 18 year old - a freshman in college, a 6 year old and a 4 year old. It is a confusing thing to grasp sometimes but am right there with you sister. My prayers go out to you regarding your health.

Wow, sorry to hear about your surgeries and hope you are feeling better! My name is Dawn and I have an 18 year old who is going to college and a 3 year old. It's funny because I thought with the difference in age there wouldn't be any "sibling rivalry", but there is!

Hey Cheryl,

So sorry to hear about your health issues. Two spine surgeries, I can't even imagine. I can relate to having to let go, or put off things that we love due to chronic pain and illness though. I deal with it daily and you never really know how blessed you are to have your health until you lose it. I have to admit-this is my first time here and I joined just about forever ago with plans to really get into Circle of Moms and honestly, I haven't even been on facebook much for the last few months, before that I was addicted, lol. My health sometimes gets in the way of what I really want to do.

Well, there's me, rambly. I really just wanted to say, I'm glad that you are feeling well enough to come back. And don't be sorry. You have to take care of yourself :)

Hugs

Michelle
