My 15 year old son and I were in the mall with our 2 year old (at the time) and newborn twins, everyone always asked if they were twins, which was quite obvious, then they would ask if they were identical, they are boy/girl and always were dressed in pink and blue, so finally after about the 20 time being stopped, my 15 year old was getting quite annoyed and wanted to get the outing over with. There were a few elderly ladies sitting on a bench and they asked the questions.. are they twins, are they identical, my son said to them, no they are not twins, one of the babies is mine and one is my mom's. I was stunned, but could not help laughing, and he said it loud enough that no one else in the mall asked again. lol

My daughter is 13 but looks older and my son is 11 months old. One day we were at a deli type restaurant. The kids were at the table and I was up at the counter. An older gentleman walked by the table and asked my son "Where is your momma?" The guy obviously expected my son to look at my daughter but instead my son whipped his head around searching for me. My daughter thought the whole thing was hysterical so she let the guy repeat the quesiton a few times before she informed him that she is the sister - not the mother. Usually my daughter finds people's confusion to be quite amusing, unless of course a cute teenage boy comes by, then she will quickly hands her brother over to me while loudy announcing "My BROTHER wants to see is mother."

my kids are 13 and 5. I had the older one when I was a teenager. Some people just assume that because i had her so young and because of the age difference they have 2 separate fathers. Most are shocked when I tell them we've been together 16 years.!

Kids are 18,14 and 2.5. I've had some really rude comments. I've had people joke that the 2.5 yr old was an accident (they didn't even ask, they just assumed; funny thing is that she's the only one that was planned!). I've had people assume that the 2.5 yr old is my 18yr old stepdaughter's child (that is pretty embarassing for her). But, this one takes the cake... while I am walking along holding my husband's hand and my older stepdaughter (about 13 at the time) is not holding his hand. This man comments to my husband that his OTHER DAUGHTER will be jealous if he doesn't hold her hand too! (as if I were his CHILD!) People truly are rediculous.

Or the folks that think that my 3yo son is my 17 (soon to be 18) yo daughter's...and then make a knowing little wink or nod when I share that he's mine. It's like a 'shhhurrrr he is kind of thing'. That's annoying!!

My children are 19, 15, 9.....several people have rencently asked if the 9yr old was an accident or planned. I HAD to reply back that she was a planned accident. The other person left speechless.
