Do you have an emergency child-care plan?

How do you all deal with the possibility of an emergency while the husband's out of town? Do you have a plan or call list? Family nearby? Something less formal with friends or neighbors? I had a few friends and neighbors on alert when I had a scare during my last pregnancy, but I've been thinking that most emergencies don't give you a lot of warning...

I did have a back-up babysitter when my kids were little, now that they are older not such a big deal, if need be they can stay home by themselves for a day..

I usually call my parents. My brother and sister in law live nearby if they're home. My plan is mostly to call my parents. Although most of the time I probably rely too much on the cross your fingers and hope nothing happens method.
