Help with negative husband

My husband's so angry and negative when he's at home that life's harder. He yells at the dog, he complains about things we didn't do, he criticizes the kids in their activities, etc. etc. He's even said everybody's happier when I'm at work. I used to argue that it wasn't true but lately I'm starting to think he's right and I feel terrible about it.

My husband can be very critical as well. I finally had the conversation with him how hurtful it is to be told I do this wrong or that wrong. I think because they live in a blokes world half the time they can't adjust. My husband recons he didn't even realise he was being like he was. He told me to pull him up when he's doing it from now on.

The best advice that I can give is to try to see things through his eyes and then try to be the partner that you would want to come home to, if that makes any sense. I find myself asking my husband, what can I do to be helpful. How can I make things easier/more comfortable/less stressful for you. I don't know your exact situation, but I hope that helps a little.
