put the kids to bed and light candles and dance together with some of favorite slow music...cuddle up and talk...with candles lit and soft music...have a meal in candle light...could even do in bed...get all dressed up fro each other ding any of these things...take walks...go to parks...play in the leaves in the fall...have a snowball fight in winter...pick flowers in the spring...and go swimming in summer...put a lock on your bedroom door...so you aren't disturbed in the middle of your date...it is healthy to go out and leave your kids...we have no one close to watch our kids and money can be tight...so we do these things to make time for each other...I still have my wedding dress also...and I get in the mood to try it on every now and then and he loves that...we laugh and his love for me starts all over again...

My husband and I started date night awhile back and its AWESOME! Our kids are school age. My hubby works from home and I work close enough that I can come home for lunch. We also like to go walking together especially during the holidays when all the store windows are decorated so pretty or we'll drive around looking at all the Christmas lights.

My husband and I do lots of free things together, take walks around our neughborhood or in the park or near a body of water. We stargaze quite a lot. Bike ride!!! I love just being alone with my husband when I can be. In college we used to go to class with each other and just hold hands. We've been together for quite some time now but our friends still tell us how disgusting our lovey dovey marriage is! :) Hope this gives you ideas.

I agree with both Rebecca and Brenda. If your child is younger, you may have to ask for family members to pitch in for babysitting for a weekend or a sleepover, then you and your hubby can have the house for yourselves (of course, you'll have to check in with them to see how your baby is doing) and have a movie date night at home, with popcorn or late dinner and wine or the whole nine yards if you want to.

If you have someone to watch the children and want to get out of the house, you could always pack a picnic and go to the park. Sitting under the stars is nice (not sure where you live if this is possible). Almost all larger areas have a cheap theater (or you can attend a High School performance of something) these usually do not cost much. When we want to stay home and are really broke we rent dollar movies (not sure if you have that either) and hide in our room with a cheap dinner. Not sure what you like but hopefully this gives some ideas.

My husband and I will get our children situated with popcorn, drinks and a movie. We tell them not to bother mommy and daddy. My children our older so that is ok. If yours are not, then put them to bed early. We go into our bedroom, lock the door and watch a movie. Maybe pack a picnic snack, so you do not have to leave the room.
