Fathers Day for a New Daddy

Hi what do you think of this for a fathers day gift... make hubby his favorite breakfast, then go for walk with family at park and have little picnic with snacks and maybe a beer or wine for hubby. Then take kids to visit my parents... give dad a gift...leave kids there for couple hours...take hubby home, order movie http://www.amazon.com/Fathers-Day-Gifts-... maybe something rated R, then a little somethin to let him know how much i appreciate him,...then pick up the kids.

something that would be nice... My sister-in-law's step sister did this for her for mother's day when my neice was about 6 months. She took a peice of computer paper and some paint she used maia's hands to make tree branches and her fist to make the sun and she used her feet to make the grass and basically had Maia make her first picture for mommy then on the back Valerie wrote out a loving poem. It has touched my heart and I wasn't the mommy! Just an Idea!

Thanks for the ideas! I'm glad we still have a little more time to get it in order. I love the hand print thing. My husband is a big coffee drinker so I wonder if there is a way to put it on a coffee mug. I will definitely be making him his favorite meals and I think we will go for a walk to the pond in our neighborhood to feed the duck's. We'll see. I would still love to hear some more ideas!

I think you asked a great question and I'm interested to hear what other moms have to say. My wonderful husband is also a first time daddy this year. I have been trying to think of some special things to do for him. This is what I have come up with, for his Father's day card I helped my 4 month old sign it and than I dipped her hands and feet in washable paint and put it next to her name. My husband also loves this bakery about 40 mins away, so I'm going there and getting his favorites ( you could also make him his favorite dinner or dessert to save money). And hopefully it's a nice day, so I can pack a picnic and we can drive some where and stroll around. -Jennifer

Hi I am in the same situation really, my hubby has been fantastic all throughout my pregnancy and since our son has been born he has been amazing - so hands on. I want to do something really amazing for an amazing daddy, I have decided that my son and I are going to make daddy's favourite meal and cheesecake for pud - and buy him a big bag of special crisps (he prefers this to chocs). We may also go on a family trip to somewhere we can walk and have fun for free. Just think about the things your hubby loves and try and give them to him - they may be an hour on the computer or the chance to watch a movie or food (like mine). Also at xmas time we made things using our sons handprints maybe you could make him a handprint/footprint picture in a cheap frame for work? good luck.
