I have been married to my husband over 3 years now and he is still my best friend ever. I'm curious to see how many people on this site have been married for many years or is it a newly-wed feeling. :)

28 years

my husband had a heart attack when he was 32 right after our 4th child was born.

He had bypass surgery.

Since then he has had 7 stents put in.

He lost his job in the construction field over 3 years ago. He's been doing odd jobs since then.

He's a hard worker. I still do stampin up and together with Gods help we are stil keeping up on all our bills.

Our youngest is now 18

and we are thankful for every single day we spend together.

Our trials have been difficult at times but we have learned to work together. Our children have learned the value of hard work. You can read our story here.

don;t take each other for granted,
don;t let the kids get between you or make your life all about the kids, oneday they will leave home and you and hubby will be alone so stay freinds,
and also use manners, it is so easy to yell and be rude when you are having a fight or arguement, try not to let it disinergrate to a slinging match, but always remember that you wouldn't be that rude to a neighbour or someone you see at the store why would you be that rude to the person you love..
and have sex....even if there are dry spells, try and make time to be with your partner and have sex when you can it really is a special bond for married couples..and like someone once said, just give it a go and even if you weren't that into it to start with having sex makes you want to have more sex...

Hi Sarah. I just wanted to comment that being married to your best friend and having such a close relationship isn't just a newly wed thing. If you work at your marriage and renew it from time to time, it can and will keep that closeness. My hubby and I have been married almost 14 yrs. Its better now than its ever been. Had a rocky start with lots of obstacles to overcome, but all that makes a marriage more of a blessing. Marriage is what you make it. You can choose to stay in love, or you can fall out of love. You definately have to keep at it, just like a plant. You have to water it, and give it warmth. Without water, sunlight and good soil, it will whither and die. Marriage is the same way....You have to give it the things that will make it grow and stay strong. Hope things will remain great with your marriage!

March 1st will make 17 married years for us. We have been together for almost 21 (since 9th grade). In some areas, we are like an old married couple, but I still feel like a newlywed. There is still passion, and I still know he is the one after all this time. I know without a doubt we will grow old together and nothing but death itself will separate us! God has blessed me with the best! I have no complaints about my marriage! He is my best friend, the one who knows all my secrets, and the one I desire to spend time with more than any other on this earth! The only one that comes before him is the Lord Jesus! We have two awesome boys to finish raising and I look forward to having grandchildren some day (just not too soon!!!!) We have made it through some very tough times, and some very good times!. My advice to those early in their marriages is to make Jesus the center, pray together, trust, and love one another, and forgive quickly (never go to bed angry).

Marriage is what you make it, and if you are not willing to work at it, then it will fall apart!

This July I was married 12 years to my best friend. I treasure the gift from God he is to me. He

Leads his family by Godly example. He makes me laugh often and challenges me frequently to reach higher to be all I can be. He helps me to see thing the way they are and the way they are not. Don't let anyone mislead you the newly-wed feeling can keep burning. Our grandparents will be celebrating 74 years of marriage on the 19th of this month...and they still act newly we'd. But the attribute it to putting God first then the other. God bless you and your marriage..got to go text my honey that I LOVE and miss him....

I have been married for 11 years and counting. To be honest it does not feel that long. I still feel like I did when I looked into my husbands eyes and said "I Do".

12 year Anniv coming up Dec 13, 2012. And when I look at him I see the most wonderful man.

(this is both our first marriage. I was 23 and he was 20 when we tied that wonderful knot)

its so neat to see people on here that are newly weds, and people on here that have been married longer then i have been alive. that just shows you, that if you put effort into it, you can make a relationship last forever.

Just hit the 12yr mark and we've been through hell and back, both caused by each other, but my husband refused to let go. By around year 10 I finally decided, this man loves me, so the least I can do is love him back. Now, it's like we just met, I think he's sexy as all hell (he always thought I was) and I'm happy he loved me enough to wait.

Sometimes it feels like the time has flown by, other times, it feels like we've been together forever and I can't remember life before him!! haha But it's been a wonderful journey and I'm grateful that we still have so much of our lives left to share together :)

My hubby and I have been married for almost 9 years. We have since had 3 beautiful children and another on the way. I love him more and more dearly everyday, and it surprises me how much more deeply you can care for a person than you did when you first fell in love. He's my best friend too.

I'll be married to my very special husband for 15yrs this year and this year we're re-saying our wedding vows. When we got married it was done in court - Randburg to be exact :) There was no money to do anything extravagant and it worked. This year, there's still no money but so many people have impacted our lives so it won't be as extravagant, but at least it will hold more meaning with a pastor this time round. I'm excited and looking forward to renewing our love not only in front of people we love and who love us, but in front of God.

Men love your wives and Wives respect and honor your husbands!!!

My husband and I have been happily married 15 years.

We are expecting our 6th child due in May. We are each other's best friend. I wouldn't have it any other way. :-)

It took a lot of hard word and open communication in the early years to get us where we are today. Now we both work hard to keep our marriage strong. It's a labor of love.

My husband and I both tell each other how happy we are. We are also honest about areas we each want to work harder on in our marriage and family.

I am truly blessed to have him in my life. ♥

I've been married for 7 years, been together for almost 8. He is my earthly best friend. I found that Jesus is my true best friend in the last couple of years though.

So, I have my girlfriends, but they could not take the place of my husband, and I would not have my hubby if not for my Jesus
