We were only together about 6 months before we got engaged but we waited a little over a year because I wanted the extra time to plan and save for the wedding.

We met in May, he purposed in October, we got married the next July. I think had we known his dad was so sick we would have gotten married sooner so he could attend

Jelissa, you should do what I did. Have a quick wedding where you live then travel to where your family lives and have something there. My family is all in New York and my inlaws live in British Columbia. We were married by a Justice of the Peace back east and had a shower and what not here in British Columbia back in July.

You could also try implimenting Skype or something during your ceremony so more people can be involved.

I was engaged for a year and a half before we got married. We actually got married back in March when my husband came down from British Columbia to New York to see our baby (I was due the 20th but had her the 9th) So I didn't even get dressed nice to get married. I wore maternity clothes at City Hall while our friends, my parents and my 6 year old watched :)



However my husband was talking about feeling like we were married for a year before he proposed and it was probably the sweetest moment when he did. I was up visiting him and we'd driven to where his mom lives by a beach. We were looking across the lake at this mountain and he proposed then.



We went up to that beach Canada Day Weekend last month and it's still flooded lol. Hopefully it'll be cleared up by next month

My husband and I were engaged 2 months before we got married, but we knew each other and were dating for a year and a half. After he proposed, Dec. I picked June to wed. But after a month went by. I think he really just wanted to get it done and make sure we stay together no matter what. So out of no where, he pushed for our marriage to happen. And the night before my wedding day, which I didn't know of. Till the day before that we are getting married because he had everyone ready and everything set up, suppose to be a surprise, hello! not a good idea, so yes he told me, and I freaked out! I thought I was getting married in June! I said. Because I wanted to be a June Bride. But oh well, the night before my wedding. I had nothing to wear! I shopped online for everything. The next morning he picked everything up for me to use and get ready. It happened. ugh...not what I expected! so there has to be another wedding, a wedding renewal that will have the brides maids, the whole family and all the friends that felt pretty offended not knowing I got married or was there for the big day! it was a wonderful little wedding day, that was simple with a handful of friends and family. But still shocked the crap out of me, kind of felt like a Las Vegas thing. Spur of the moment. Gotta love the guy though. And yes, my close friend is making my beautiful wedding dress that I will be planning to wear for our day again.

Me and my Husband were dating 3 1/2 months when we got Engaged, the we were married about 1 year later... I believe when you know you just know and We have now been Married over 10 years with 2 Daughters and 1 on the way...

We started dating after he was asking for months. I just got over a realationship and wanted to wait. then finally I said yes and he brought me out on a hiking trip. After 5 months of dating he asked me to marry him. I of coarse had him wait longer since I just don't want to rush into things. a year later We had a child and one day he brought our daughter shopping. Came home and told me to go into the living room and look at our child. I went in there and there was our 4 month old wide awake in the infant carrier holding a box. I opened it and a note fell out saying " Are you ready to marry my daddy yet?" There was aring in the box as well. I started to cry and told him yes. 2 years later we finally got married, It has been a very beautiful 3 years as marriage. and now all of our children know they can't rush me into doing anything. I will do it when I am ready. It is always worth the wait.

My husband and I were engaged for nearly 2 years we only waited that long because I found out I was pregnant and wanted to look the best I could and new babies are expensive so we saved up and had the best time ever :o)

we were engaged 2 1/2 monthes. don't worry on length most of the first few years is learning about your spouse. It can help if you've lived with him and the length of friendship and dating.

We were engaged for four months before we were married. If we could have planned the wedding any faster it would have been shorter! We were together for three years before we were engaged. We've been married for two and a half years now!

My husband and I were never officially engaged. He was in the military and we had discussed when we would get married depending on where he was to be stationed. He was in VA and I was in SC, so as soon as he found out where he was being stationed, he called me and said "if we're going to get married, we need to do it now." LOL. So we had 3 weeks to plan and carry out a wedding. My sister in law was the best! She helped me find a dress, we married in the church we were members of, etc. We had been dating for 3 1/2 years by this point. This December we will celebrate our 14th Anniversary and we are just as happy if not happier than when we were first married.

We were engaged for over a year, but this is my second marriage. My children told him we had to wait 5 yrs. before we could get married. We made it to 4 yrs. they all told him to make an honest women out of me. When the time is right it will happen.
