Although my husband is barely two years younger than me, I have some really great friends in great marriages who husbands are over a decade older than them and they have very wonderful fulfilled and happy marriages. No age doesn't matter to me.

No age does not matter when their are adults involved who are at the right mind set. I am 25yrs old and my husband is 32 yrs old...and he is very mature and thats why I like men a little older than me. You see he has taken on the role of a father figure to my 2 boys especially since their father has not. He truly is the best person to ever walk into our lives!!!!

Age is a number. Maturity is what matters. My first husband was only a year older than I and after 10 years we decided that we were fooling ourselves (we are best friends now). My current husband is 4 years older than me and has the same desires and goals as myself. It works out wonderfully, our children from our respective previous marriages get along, as well as the ones we had together. There are 8 children total.

my hubby is 10 years older. when we met and first talked we noticed there was an age difference but it has never afftected us. really the olny difference is when we talk about cartoons/ shows and music from the 80 because he was in his teens and I was in elementary school.

my hubby is (hold your breath) just shy of 27 years older than me. his birthday is 11/6/61 and mine 11/3/88. we'll be married 3 years as of june 9th and i wouldn't have it any other way. i am so in love with him and if i think about what life would be like without him i cry. i know he adores me as well. the weirdest thing about our marriage (i think) is he already had 3 boys before me, and 2 of them are actually older. the younger one is 5 years younger. but we've gotten used to it and we're all happy. we also have 1 1/2 children (the 2nd is due 4/19) together. that might actually be the biggest issue as far as the age difference. he wants to stop after this (not that i blame him) and i'm just not sure yet. 'tis something we'll be talking a lot about over the next few months. on the other hand, his experience makes raising our daughter so much easier. not that i don't have a say, i definitely do. we are always talking about different parenting styles and ways to do things. i have 3 younger siblings that i had a big hand in raising myself, and a lot of people used to refer to me as 'laura's mommy' up until when i moved out. so i do have a little experience too, at least up until about age 4. but i still like knowing that he's done this before, and the boys turned out just fine.

we also tease each other about our ages. since i'm about 7 months pregnant and have the usual aches and pains and was complaining to him (again), he teased me that he was going to trade me in for a newer model. likewise, i tease him about 'soon being able to get the sr. discount'. it's all good though.

in the end, no, i don't think age matters. as long as both people love each other. sorry i'm a little long winded today. lol

My hubby is a year older then me, *technically* but not really lol he was born in october and i was born in the January after, but it did give him more appeal to me, as i looked to older men(boys at the time i was looking!) as a more mature person to deal with, which is a huge bonus in my mind :) lol Age is most definitely just a number, but not a big factor in my marriage :P

My husband is 14 years old than me. It's the same age difference between my mom and dad. We thought it might be a little weird at first because he is closer in age to my mom than me. Honestly, most people don't notice how big the age gap between us is unless we tell them.

My husband is eight years older than I am, and it's been perfect for us.

I'd have to say the only issue we've had is that occasionally he'll talk down to me, kind of like an adult talks down to a child when they say something off the wall. I am happy to say that he's really improved on that front since the beginning, though.

Otherwise, age is a number and it's really about compatibility.

Age DOES MATTER but the level of importance is measured by the age of the younger of the two IMHO. I have always been involved with men that are older but within an acceptable boundary. In other words there is a big difference between a 14 year old with a 24 year old whereas there isn't a huge difference between a 40 year old with a 50 year old. Is there? My husband was born in 1951 and I in 1967. But I was 39 when I married him. We had both been married and divorced and also had children. We had similar goals in life, have tremendous respect for each other and enjoy one another's company tremendously both in and out of the bedroom.

I don't think it should matter, either way (man older than woman OR woman older than man) once one is an adult ... compatibility is most important. it's just that sometimes if there's a big age difference, it's harder to find things in common! I always liked older men but find the age gap has narrowed as I get older myself. My first husband was 6 years older (I was widowed 2 days before my 40th birthday, and still miss him), and my husband now is only 4 years older - the smallest age difference of anyone I've ever been with. We will celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary 1/1/10. My first adult relationship - at 18 - was with a 29-year-old man. If I were single and dating now at age 51, I think I'd consider men between the ages of around 40 to early 60s (but would much rather NOT; when we got together, I promised my wonderful current husband not to leave him, and he promised me not to die! ha).

my husband and I are only 10 months apart in age- I'm 'older'- and although I'd always dated men older than myself, my husband and I have had similar life experiences, so I think that put us more on the same 'plain'. as we grow older/gain more experiences, it's less about the number in years, and more about the experience/hopefully wisdom. congrats on a GREAT relationship with your hubby!

Age doesn't matter after 21. There's seven years only between my DH and me, but we rarely notice it until we start talking about what songs were popular at what age and what shows we watched as children.

I knew from the age of 13 I would be with an older man, not exactly sure why until I hit 20 and went through the toughest year of my life... I had nothing. I had a few guys offer to help me (and I know that isn't all they wanted), and they all acted their shoe size. Then I found the love of my life one night and never left... he wouldn't let me and I was fine with that ;)
