Since you all have wonderful husbands, I'm wondering what you all are planning to do for your hub's on Christmas? I want to do something over-the-top that will floor him but I cannot decide which direction I want to go in. One idea is an elaborately planned out fantasy that you know he has, but hasn't necessarily expressed to you, but something like that usually turns out more for the planner than the receiver. Ugh. I'm stumped. Your ideas don't have to involve tons of money - just something unusual and creative. I do have a pretty decent budget, though (thanks to all of my hubby's hard work). I just grow weary of the standard "new bowling ball" idea, or the "personal coupon book". What is something you dream of giving him or doing for him, to prove that he gives you purpose and fills your heart, soul, mind, body and home with joy every single day!!

The best gift I ever gave my hubby was a trip to Pebble Beach for golf. I gave him a big box of golf balls and taped to it was a note stating the date I had reserved our room and golf.
If your guy likes to golf...a golf trip is a wonderful gift. http://www.amazon.com/s/?_encoding=UTF8&...
The trip was totally him focused...no kids...no shopping. Just great food, drinks, golf and late night fun!

Well, christmas and our anniversary are close, Dec 27th. So for christmas I am getting him paintball guns and on our anniversary I am surprising him by taking him to a local paintballing arena to play. This is something we have both always wanted to do but never did, and he has some friends that go into the woods and play so he can use the paintball guns all year!

Robyn that sounds like LOTS of FUN!! Hope ya know what you may be getting into though! LOL. :)

Rosie, that sounds great. A little "wife boot camp" never hurt any of us. :) I think if he knows that this is your gift to him he will respond by being very supportive - and let's face it - he'll probably be turned on by it!

I am doing a kind of "coupon" thing for my husband...with a little twist. My husband is getting a jar of "sweets." I took several candy names and made mock candies. Instead of candy, the inside of the wrappers will have instructions on different "fantasies" that he has told me he would like to experience. For example: A Skor candy wrapper says, "What you do to me, I do to you...the perfect way to even the Skor!" I told him about the gift, and he LOVES the idea! ; )

My husband and i agree that i need to lose some weight, so my christmas gift to him is 30-50 crunches.

i am thinking of doing a twelve days of christmas thing, little gifts like notes or letters in his lunch box to read at work, a box of chocolates, a big breakfast before he gets up, a clean house just because, his fav cake(cheesecake), ME:) its cheep but it will mean more to him.

Great ideas ladies! I've narrowed the possibilities down to a couple of things but I am waiting to hear back from a friend of ours who I need to help out with what I really want to get him.

One thing I'm doing for him regardless is giving him a "Man Day". I'm going to put him in a cab WITHOUT HIS LAPTOP, and he'll be off to the barber, a professional shoe shine, then a back massage at his gym, then a steak dinner and hockey game (with two of his buddies). After that he's going to come home to a hot shower provided by yours truly, a six pack of his favorite beer, his favorite cigar and an eager-to-please "call girl" fantasy-date. :)

Got mine Bose speakers for his iPhone...the other idea was sailing lessons...unfortunately that was out of my price range but I'm keeping it in mind for future. I also found a sword cane....a little off the beaten path but he'll like it.

something romantic and cheap. breakfast in bed. take him to his favorite place or have him do his favorite hobby, but being there and supporting him. sometimes the littlest thing counts the most.

My husband and I have celebrated 14 Christmases together. Last year the big gift was Karate classes for our whole family. We let our kids open their uniforms as Christmas presents. This year I plan to get him a weight bench with dumbells that we can exercise together. I have found that he likes doing things together. Even if it wouldn't necessarily be my normal thing, I like to get involved with his hobbies, whether it's exercise, music, games. I'm not sure what we will do next year but this year he's interested in exercise and eating healthy. I guess the other gift with that is that I'll have to clear a spot to put the weights so that means I'll have to do something with the clutter in our room. A clean house makes an excellent gift as well. :)

Kindra - you've got me thinking in different directions and that is just what I needed. Congrats on getting out of debt, btw!!! My hub is always such a responsible, stoic, manly-man, that I think I will delve back into his childhood and do something totally unexpected and fun. :)

My husband is an achondroplasia dwarf. He's 4'6" and he's big into Superman and all things "geek". I got him a Superman blanket with sleeves. I adjusted the sleeves to fit him (as I am still kind of learning with the sewing machine, I hope I did a good job!) He loved the old cartoon "Danger Mouse" and I might get him the complete set of that from Amazon.com. Usually his interests are things that are pretty pricey, and we live paycheck to paycheck (his, not mine) most of the time. We won't have a lot of gifts this year. (I'd get him something else, but he spent $400 on my 1 gift!) That's all I will be getting-which is just fine with me. We also have our little daughter to buy for. I think this year she will get 2 presents. (A Princess play/bed set and a Princess talking kitchen.) She is 4 and big into...you guessed it! Princesses! I think it will be fun. I can't wait to see her little face on Christmas morning. My husband's gift to me is by far the most expensive thing anyone's getting for Christmas, but I don't know what it is, he just told me how much it was so I could know how much I could spend on Christmas this year. Our money's also been a little tight, because this past year my daughter had cancer and was going through treatments and we have medical bills coming out of our ears. By some amazing miracle though, we'll be able to get completely out of debt after we do taxes next year- medical bills included! Thanks to good insurance which helped A TON! Anyway, I'm rambling. Sorry about that.

My husband usually likes the expensive electronics. I can't think of some of his past "wish lists" right now for some examples, but I hope it helps! Good luck!

Fudge... I make it every year... but he LOVES it. I'd like to get him a new knife set... but those are waaaay to expensive. I plan on getting him as a main present a tool box with tiny compartments for his Warhammer models and bits. He's been wanting one for a while. I'd love to get him a huge one... but we don't have a place to put something like that.

My husband once told me that men and women think the same when it comes to romance. Rose petals on the bed with a well placed bottle of wine and two sparkling wine glasses. Candle lit dinner and a well dressed wife, and hubbys a happy man. lol. The gift was actually the new king sized doonah and cover, and I was trying to draw attention to it, but he couldnt get over the presentation as a whole. lol.
