Ok so baby # 2 is due in March. I got rid of most of my baby gear b/c of the size of the house we were in and lack of storage. My MIL is going to throw me a baby shower. I really do not need everything on my registery, but some of the things I consider necessities (changing pad for a dresser, bathtub, matress pad, etc.). Would it be rude to ask a select few people, like mom and aunts, to buy certain gifts? So that way I know that I will be getting them.

If you feel comfortable asking those close reletives then do so. Otherwise they can just get you something small for the shower and wait until after to get you the necessities you didn't get.

You could ask for gift certificates. That way you can then go get what you want. Depending on how close you are will tell you whether it is rude or not. You could just drop a few hints about what you would really like!!

I guess it depends on your relationship with them....i had a few things that we had not gotten yet and i asked my aunts and parents for them and of course they got them but they also got what they wanted to give me. I also had friends that asked out right what we needed so i gave them a short list of small things i needed.
