I always thought it would be nice for my son (2) to have a small gift for the new baby (due January). Has anyone done this?
Another thought was to bring a small wrapped gift to the hospital for the baby to give my son. Has anyone done this before?

I am due in a week and we have purchased a cabbage patch doll for my daughter (2 1/2). That way she will have her own baby to focus on when her brother comes.

Our eldest was 17mths when I had his brother. He gave his little brother a teddy, and the baby gave him story book.

Lucy, our stories are so similar! My mom also gave us small gifts to give our new sibling and we did keep them forever. My son will also be 2.5 this January and a bear or doll is exactly what I had in mind. Thanks for responding!

My daughter will be 2.5 when my baby is due (also in Jan :) ) I plan on having him give her a small something when she comes to meet him. Not something huge just like a baby doll or teddy bear. If it helps my parents did the same thing for me when my little brother was born and I still have the doll he gave me. I am now 24 and he is 21.
