Hi all, I have a little girl called Olivia who is 2 next month and i've just found out a few weeks back that i'm pregnant again. It is a planned pregnancy and we were really surprised how quickly i got caught but i can't believe that my waistline is ever so expanding already! I know that it's not so much baby and mostly fluid/bloating. I never got overly big with Olivia and my stomach went relatively back to normal fairly quickly after so i'm a little shocked at how my body is changing so far. Well they say no two pregnancy's are the same! Anyone else noticed a difference with their second??? xxxx

This is my 4th and I have not experienced any real discumforts and I have yet to show at 14 weeks. With my 1st child I began showing at 5 months, with the next two almost immediately. I expect to wake up on day with a huge belly.

well after all the worrying, i'd like to report that my belly seems to have gone down a bit and the bloating has subsided for now. Just waiting for my scan now and getting excited. I hav to say i'm most excited for my 20 week scan as we didn't find out first time around what we were having but this time we have decided t find out and i'm being rather impatient!!! he he

Each pregnancy you show sooner. I started showing about 9 weeks with my second or at least had to change clothes and with the current number three I was wearing maternity clothes at 5 weeks. Crazy. I also got asked if it might be twins from all my friends because I was expanding so fast and my morning sickness was worse. However we had an ultrasound and there is only one. I haven't put on any weight either.

I definitely noticed differences with my second pregnancy.  With my first, I did not start wearing maternity clothes until the 3rd trimester.  With my second, I couldn't fit my regular jeans after the first trimester.  But, surprisingly, my second daughter is just 3 weeks old and I am back in my regular jeans.  Makes no sense to me since #2 is bigger than #1!

I have to agree. I am at only 13 weeks with my 2nd and I have laready had to pull out the maternity clothes. My others were just getting to uncomfortable. My husband can't believe that I already have a little belly on me so soon. Things went very smooth with my 1st one, but this one so far has been a mess. I remember being tired the first few months, but this is getting ridiculous. I just want to sleep all the time. Oh & the fact that I feel sick 24/7.

Totally. I am 20 weeks an enormous. My midwife says the muscles aren't as tight so things are not held in as much. Don't worry it's normal after your first!

Yes thank you. I have been checking around at our second hand stores for cribs but so far I haven't had any luck. They all so far have told me they don't accept cribs because of the recall factor. But I will Keep on looking.

Yes help is awesome. I have a boy now and long before I got pregnant I got a ton of stuff from my brother he has girls. So when I find out what this is I am going to get rid of what I don't need. Yes I am planning on wrecking the surprise. I like to know what I'm having as my basement is full and I want to make some room. I am lucky I am the youngest of ten and the last to have kids so my whole family has been giving me stuff. When I got my crib and stuff for #1 I bought it all second hand. It is still good and will last for this one. I only plan on having two. Check out your local second hand stores. It may be an idea to find out what your having as it my relieve some strss if it is a girl your worries will be much smaller. But I know surprises are nice!

But If this is a boy I have no clothes for it. That part sucks. lol I hope I get some help from the family on getting clothes for him if it is a boy.

I go for my ultrasound on the 10th of feburary. So I am keeping my fingers crossed. Yes it is hard to look ahead of the termoil the economy is in right now. But on the bright side they eat for free for the first 6 months if you nurse. LOL. It is also nice when you have one already as you don't need everything.

lol Norma. You are not the only with the attack on twin comments. I had my first ultrasound with this one done at 10 weeks to make sure there wasn't twin's in there since everyone even then was saying there was twin's but they are not say well there still could be cause one could be hidding now that is a scary thought. I am scared about this pregnancy more then I was with my first one since the job's are dewendling away. Money is tight now. I am scared we won't be able to give this baby what it needs.

I am 16 weeks and I can't believe how big my belly has gotten. It seemed to grow very fast this time. Eveything seems to be going very fast this time. It is hard for me to believe I am already 4 months. With my first I had a very easy but seemling long pregnancy. This time I was sick for the fist 14 weeks and am so glad that I can eat again without it coming back . I have not gained very much weight but my belly is pretty big. I never started showing with my first till about 5 months. I am also getting attacked by twin comments.

Yes I too have noticed a difference in my second pregnancy then my first. I too am 14 weeks and already in maternity clothes. My belly reminds me on how I looked at five months with my first child. I have gained weight very fast with this one unlike my first child. With my first one I didn't gain any weight until the last three months and she was born three weeks early. I am just hoping that with this one I will stop gaining so much at a time. Not sure how to change that but I eat healthy maybe this one is just one that will be a bigger baby.

Everything is different with this one!  I barely had any symptoms with my first and I have had almost everything under the sun with this one.  The one thing that is the same is that I'm taking FOREVER to show, haha.

Thanks for your replies and reassurances. I have been getting the odd mention of twins from people who seem to think that's quite amusing. It doesn't run in either of our families but as people keep reminding me 'it has to start somewhere along the line!' I'm sure, like you say, my stomach is still relaxed from first time around. I'm contemplating getting the maternity clothes out just for comforts sake as i'm hating things being tight around my belly at the min. I've not started feeling too sick yet either (touch wood) just sometimes a little yucky and need to have a snack. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that i'm lucky this time around as for the first 13 weeks when i was pregnant with Olivia i couldn't eat much at all fo feeling sick all the time. How have you all been doing?

I definitely started showing sooner with my second baby! I actually kind of enjoyed it because it was obvious that I was pregnant and not just gaining weight. Also, even though I started showing sooner, things kind of slowed down and there were a few months where I didn't seem to get much bigger. So don't despair, unless it turns out to be twins, a growing belly now doesn't necessarily equate to a bigger belly overall of this pregnancy!

I am 6 weeks pregnant w/ my third and I am also rapidly expanding. At first I thought maybe I just went a little crazy eating during the holidays, but the scale reads the same. I was shocked at how quickly it happened also. People keep asking me about twins, anyone else getting that too?

I am on my third and i have noticed how big i am getting fast...it is alittle scary, but my doctor has said that after the first baby your belly is stretched so it stretches faster any other pregnancies after. Plus like u said bloating and all that fun stuff help make that belly big too. Hope that helps.
