Has anyone had issues with breastfeeding a teething baby

I have a 6 month old that I breastfeed, she is teething though no teeth have appeared yet. My nipples are sore to the point of what they were when she was first born. I don't know if this is because she is using me as a teething toy or if something else is going on. It is mostly just one side that is sore (actually scabbing and bleeding like when she was first nursing) I was wondering if this is common and if anyone has any suggestions for the tenderness.

Have you talked to your doctor? If you haven't, you should. They will be able to help you further assess whether it's teething or something else :)

As for suggestions, warm compresses, shower and massage your breasts with the warm water, don't wear constricting bra's and try to let your nipples get as much 'air' as possible. Wear a light shirt with no bra for awhile or if you can be topless and let your nipples get some free time with nothing touching them. I know that sounds kinda weird, but it could help :)

Good luck, I hope you feel better :)
