I am now pregnant with baby number two. I need some advice on how I can become and stay healthy with this one. What are some good meals and snacks and some quick and easy exercises? Please Help!

I NEED SOME GOOD ADVICE, SO LADY'S PLEASE HELP !!!!
I am 28-years old... have 2 daughters right now. With my 1st child I gained almost 100lbs. My whole life I was really thin. When I got prego at age 21. I was 98lbs.( 5'4 tall) when I went to deliver my first baby I was 192lbs. At my daughters 1st birthday party I was about 140lbs .. And I loved my body at that weight.. Much better then 98lbs. And I really felt good about myself.. then I had 2 miscarriage. One after the other... I was about 9 weeks with both pregnencys!!! Then 3 years later ( my daughters are 3 years and 4 months apart) when I gave birth to my 2nd baby I went from 140lbs to 220lbs...... I felt miserable. I was able to loose the weight 2 years later NOW to 185-187lbs. Which is going very slow for me. Now, the problem is... my husband and I would like to have 1 more baby. ( we are hoping for a boy., sants we have 2 girls) But I am scared to get pregnant because I seem to be gaining so much weight and I am size 10-12 now.... with 185lbs. 90lbs havier then I was before the kid..... and I am scared what if I never loose the weight what if I stay big my whole life.. NOW... i have 2 questions ... I need advice... do I loose the weight which might take me another 5 years lol to go to 140lbs and then have a baby.. or do i get prego now... and worry about the weight after the baby is born ??? maybe i would be lucky the 3th time around, like some of my other friends are.. that seem to go back to there jeans size in 6 weeks or so...... please help.... what do i do >???

I was 115 lb when i got pregnant the first time and got up to 170 lbs. I was rather depressed about pregnancy. I too had an office job which entailed donuts every other friday, eating out for birthdays and big holiday meals. After giving birth i only lost 15 lbs! And didn't lose any after breastfeeding. I can honestly say my diet choses were a great difference between this pregnancy and the last. I watched my portions, and didn't eat as soon as i felt hungry, i drank water. I had grape tomatoes, and fresh veggies when i wanted to snack. I ate lots of fruit, and didn't use pregnancy as an excuse to over indulge. What a difference it made, i am not active at all with this pregnancy, and only worked part time as a cashier. Yes it was a standing job, which i think help a bit. But currently i am due any day and i weigh 165 lbs. I am only 5'1 and still fit into my medium maternity pants. I also took my antioxidants with my multi vitamin which i think help. My last pregnancy i went off everything scared it would hurt the baby, and ended up gaining 15 lbs in my first trimester. This time i didn't gain any weight till i was 4.5 months pregnant.
I got down to 128 lbs when i got prenant with my second, so i think i am doing better with the weight and definitely better with the nutrition and the inches!
Good luck and remember your decision have a consequence!

im pregnant with baby number 2 at the min and my son is only 14 months old.i put on 3.5 stone with the first and found this time round as you are more aware of how hard it is to shift the baby weight after you naturally eat healthier. i joined aqua aerobics and only stopped there last week with 3 weeks to go!!so you can do what you are capable of as far along as your comfortable!!taking your first wee one swimmin helps too as your constantly moving to keep up with them!!lol. you will put on weight with any pregnancy but as long as you and your baby are healthy who cares what the scales say

Just make small changes in the way you eat and it can make a huge difference. Like switch eating things like potato chips or cheez-itz for wheat thins with peanut butter (always cured my junk cravings and filled me up pretty nicely!). Switch things like sugary fruit snacks for organic fruit snacks. They don't add any sugar and are a full serving of fruit and taste really really good. Switch milkshakes or icecream for home made smoothies (blend pulpy orange juice with frozen fruit and a dallop of regular yogurt). Cutting back on sugar is really the main thing. It's ok to have a bit of fat in our diets while pregnant, we're supposed to! So avoid fat free this and that but also avoid too much butter or bad oils. Cook with Extra Virgin Olive oil instead. Switch any cereals to something very high in fiber. The have healthy choice oatmeal that cut out some sugars and add calcium. If you have trouble eating a lot of veggies like I drink V8 juice when I can stomach it.

As far as keeping your body in shape, I totally understand how hard it is to get up off the couch sometimes. It's all about forcing yourself and getting into a routine. If you have Netflix or a video store nearby there are lots of pregnancy exercise videos that you can try out.

I never lost all of my first child baby fat either and i'm pregnant again so i'm a little worried but I think that if I can stick to everything I mentioned above I can maybe avoid the wrong pregnancy weight gain. If I pack on the pounds I want to make sure it's because I needed to not because I couldn't stop the McDonalds cravings lol.

I found i started losing my baby weight when i got pregnant for the second time lol... Buying the EA sports for the wii is superb... you can formulate your own workouts and put in what you have eaten etc and it helps you maintain a steady diet as it calculates what you do!!! Perfect for after the birth too...

I know how you feel! I'm in the same situation as you! What I've done is start eating Thai Kitchen Instant Rice Noodle soup. It has 160 calories for the package, and I just love them! I've also started to eat slower and smaller portions. I'll eat fruit for breakfast, like a banana or two. Then for supper I'll eat a little more (due to morning sickness I can't eat much in the early day) I've lost 1.5 lb and I'm 6 weeks. I'm not trying to loose weight, but it's just happening.

As for exercises, you need to be careful, nothing that does a lot with the abs. I do a lot of Yoga (I usually do candlelight Yoga from Netflex right before bed, it helps relax me and makes me feel good). I also walk a lot, and that helps too.

Good Luck!

I'm like you - I hadn't lost the baby weight from my now 2-yr olds pregnancy when I got pregant again. I spent the first few months worried about that & my doctor's warning to watch my blood pressure.

I found this great DIY book - the Gentle Birth Method by Gowri Motha. She wrote it as being an obstetrician she got tired of being called in at the last moment to help women birth their babies when they hadn't been looking after themselves during their pregnancy. It's very comprehensive - covers nutrition, has a yoga programme, self-hypnosis & visualisaton scripts, home massage instructions with a week by week programme for getting professional therapy (reflexology etc). I've referred to it regularly over the past few months.

Admittedly I haven't followed it anywhere to the letter, but I'm now only a few weeks away before #2 arrives, and have only gained a few kilos in extra weight so I'm about the same weight now as I was when #1 was born. My blood pressure has come right down, and I haven't had any swelling either (she recommends cutting out wheat & going gluten free in the last month to avoid your tissues swelling), which in this heat is a relief! So yep I definitely recommend a read if not a buy... :)
