my daughter was 160 and im pregnant with my son and his heart rate is also 160. sorry i cant help

I found that to be very false this pregnancy. With this baby her heart rate has been right around 140 which everyone said is the "boys" heart rate. With my first daughter her heart rate stayed around 160 the entire pregnancy. I will say that this does seem to be a baby girl season tho. Out of everyone I know that is pregnant right now I only know 1 having a boy, the rest are having girls.



Both of my babies are girls.

Total wives tale my I have two boys one had a faster heart beat the other slower doesn't make a difference. You can buy an intelligender test at walgreens for fun they are supposedly 80% accurate. Me and a friend each took one hers said girl and mine said boy the tests were both right.

I was told by a friend that you could tell the sex of your baby by the speed of its heart rate. She told me if it was faster its a boy. I thought it was a little far fetched so i asked the ultrasound man. he laughed and said its not true. For you to get an accurate average of a babies heartbeat you would have to listen to it for at least 10 minutes then compare with all other babies at the same point in pregnancy. He also said their heart beat at the time depends on their activity. To get an accurate reading your baby has to be settled and rested.

I am pregnant with my second baby and i know with both mine as soon as the heart beat monitor or ultrasound thingy was put on my belly they moved around alot to get away from it. They even kicked at it.

i was going by this too but my doctor said they're all fast until a certain point, then they even out and by that time, you've already had your 18 or 20 week ultrasound and know the gender.

i think if it's over 150 it's more likely to be a girl and so far that's been true for me

I don't know if its true. My doc says it depends on how active the baby is. My daughter consistantly had heart rate of over 160 or so. But then she's also a very active little munchkin. Still is at a year old, always on the go. With my current pregnancy the heart rate is lower than it ever was last time. about 148 I think. So I'm curious if this is a boy?????

heart rate is so not a predictor of what yur having. they told my sister inlaw that she was having a boy b/c of the heart rate, she ended up having a girl

My daughter's heart rate was always between 150 and one 160. Most of my friends who have had girls have had high heart rates. However, it is just a wives tale and it isn't always correct as my sister had boys and their heart rates were always high as well. I too had a strong feeling that my daughter was a girl but we didn't find out until she was born. I am now only 14 and a half weeks and have only heart the heart beat once on my new one but it was 170, again we won't be finding out until the baby is born but we will see how it all works out this time. I tend to believe the wives tale is true in a lot of cases. Best of luck with the new adventures.

My son's heartbeat was 176 the first time we heard it, and then my daughter's was 168. So I'm thinking there is no real truth to the old wives tale. It make work "most" of the time, but def not always. I have found that if you don't hope for a certain gender. . and just go with the flow you will KNOW what the baby is long before they can tell at the dr office. I knew what both of mine were. And the ultrasound tech said that she finds that to be the case all the time-if the mom doesn't hope its one way or the other then they can tell, but hoping messes up their intuition.

There are a lot of old wives tales out there about this.

With my son, his heartrate was 180bpm at his first ultrasound at 7wk6d.

With my current pregnancy, the first ultrasound at 6wk 3d showed a heartrate of 127bpm, and the second scan at 9wk showed it as 156bpm.

Every baby has a different heart rate, and while I'm oping or a girl this time around, it doesn't necessarily mean that I will get a girl based on a different/lower/higher heartreate than what I had with my son.

Try not to stress too much. The only ways you can find out for sure what you are having is though CVS, ultrasound or when the baby is born.
