The past couple of days I have started leaking when I lay down. I've called the doc and gotten the voice mail for the on-call triage. The fluid is clear and doesn't really have a smell, but the leaking isn't constant, only when I lay down. 30wks and 4days today... This happened with my first and they sent me home repeatedly saying it wasn't broken water, but eventually induced me, due to low amniotic fluid. What do you think? What would you advise? Any way to test from home whether it's amniotic fluid or not?

if ya havent yet go back i would with my daughter i tore a bit and leaked 12pm on her due date went to bed woke up was still leakin so 11am went to the hospital and got sent back home telling me i had a bladder infection but ya by 8 pm i was back there and than i got induced!so u make sure they get a good swab so they know if it is amniotic fluid

get a second opinion and have you thought of consulting a parinatologist? if you had low fluid that could make u a canidate for high risk and you could consult them

just go to the hospital and tell them you think your water broke. they will triage you. listen to the baby check for fluid and contractions. if all is fine they will just send you home with a false alarm.

I agree with Tammy, If you lose too much fluid it could be dangerous to the baby. Consult another doctor or walk in and demand an appt with yours. Hope your baby is safe and healthy! good luck

Personally, it does sound like amniotic fluid, as the fluid is clear and odorless. And waters usually break/leak when you are in bed as well. I have not heard of any way to test if its amniotic fluid at home unfortunately. I would find another doctor, one that actually listens to you and your concerns.
