I have always prided myself on my daughter and how wonderful she acts and how respectful she is. It seems as though to me that since my husband got laid off a few weeks ago she has started to act out. If I ask her to do something, such as take her plate to the sink, she blatantly refuses and just stares at me with a blank look on her face. There is nothing I can seem to do punishment wise that will make her do it and I still end up doing what I asked her to do to begin with. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what form of punishment to carry out on a 3 year old that will make her understand who the mommy is. I am just so lost and frustrated sometimes! Thanks for any help!

hi nikki, my son tends to not listen to me as much when his fathers around which is frustrating and especially as dadddy cant take control either,i find if i talk to him in a positive manner when i say things he reacts alot better (although they all have them days they dont listen) with the putting his plate in the sink he does it now without being asked (just holding it with 2 hands haha it ends up everywhere) hes excited to do it as its helping :) now hes all bout "team work" as its a phrase i say he just doesnt quite understand it yet, my son has a big attitude but is a very polite little boy but does very naughty things (hes almost 4) and i think it just gets worse with age we just have to learn to deal with positively for best results. best of luck it all work out once she gets alittle older :)
