I had this problem until about 1.5 weeks ago. Then he just went. we went cold turkey straight into undies and he still went in his undies a few times. one mom suggested to me to make him clean his own dirty undies and that worked for her, she said her son told her that was gross and for fear of doing it again he started using the toilet. Your son is still young so the fact that he's going pee already is great. He may not realize when he has to go poop, also I know my son liked the warmth of it as gross as it is. its a different sensation plus with the cold toilet water plashing on them since they're far away from the water maybe a turn off from going also. good luck

the pleasure of pooping dosn't come normaly for kids untill they are two or three. Untill then they think its somthing bad cuz it kinda hurts... that' s why they hid when they have to go. So just give him time maybe he'll come around to it with some encouragement. Don't force him tho cuz that will only have negitive affects!

Training my 18 month old son to go to the potty. Day one through 3 I saw progress but then on day four he didn't want to sit on the potty or pee in it either. What do I do? He knows that he is suppose to pee in the potty and even sits his stuffed animals on it and tells them to pee pee. I'm not sur if to keep on going or stop and wait a week or so....please help! Anyone experience this?

My 3 year old daughter does the same thing. I'm amazed that your son is using the potty so young! Don't worry, it'll happen eventually, this is just one of those things you have to wait for, because only they can control it! My older son did the same thing, but he eventually got the hang of it. Don't push him too much, or he may start to hold it, and if he becomes constipated, it makes it hurt, which will just make him more determined not to go!
