Everything is already loosened and stretched by your first, so unless you really worked out it's pretty common for the second to show earlier as your muscle tone isn't as good.

Thanks Brianna. I don't know what to think anymore. But we will see. That is basically what I am hoping for; to wait until April and see what happens. I figured it was too early but I attempted it anyway just in case. I am going to be getting some blood work done for my annual physical so I may just request for a test using a blood sample. I know it takes a bit longer but I have heard it is more accurate. Keep you posted. By the way congrats.

I am new to circle of moms but I also had the same question about the second baby. I saw your thread and signed up. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I have a soon to be 3 year old boy and we thought it would be a good time. I have been trying to eat better as to get my body ready. I was on a diet for the past few months and managed to lose 26 pounds. I will admit I gained a few pounds back but I still did not have a belly. In the last few weeks (perhaps like 2 weeks or so) I have noticed that my belly is getting bigger. It is starting to bother me because it looks like I have a tire around my waist when I sit and when I stand there is a pouch. I didn't suspect pregnancy prior to this all happening as I got my period at the beginning of this month (March). But as I put things together I have noticed that I am tired, I had a few dizzy spells and feel hungry all the time (mostly craving meat which I hardly eat). I walk around all day as I work on my feet. Up until maybe 2 days ago, I had a headache very morning. I have also had some cramps. I thought it would be a good idea to take a pregnancy test but it was negative. I don't know what to think. Am I am just getting fat or am I pregnant?

im showing much sooner then my first pregnancy also! i am now 15 weeks and am getting a tummy, but with my son i didnt show until around 25 weeks! good luck with your pregnancy :)

I know what you mean, I was the same with both of my younger boys, but to be honest the hyperemesis was more of a clue to people who knew me....I did buy waist expanders and wear more tunics for a while to hide it. In fact I didn't wear any maternity clothes at all last time round, just used expanders and bump bands to extend my normal clothes....

LOL my second pregnancy was showing more quickly than my first! My doc says that with the second baby and beyond you will show more quickly, whether your pregnancies are 9mo or 6years apart. It's like your body's saying.. "been there, done that and not fighting it this time". Doesn't make us feel any better about 'baby pooch' but it is natural.

Yes I'm definitely showing quicker with my second pregnancy! With my first I didnt start showing until I was about 16 weeks, with this one I started getting a subtle bulge at 5 weeks!! Even hubby noticed that my belly was changing already. We told our family when I was 8 weeks along as I really couldnt hide it any further. I'm now 22 weeks along and still alot bigger than what I was with my first, although I havent gained any weight yet. The way I figure, my body already knows what to do now, so its just moving to where it needs to go lol. One of the best things about your belly growing quickly is you dont really have the 'is she getting fat or pregnant' stage! lol

I understand. I'm 7 weeks with my 3rd and I feel like I'm showing already too. I thought I showed early with the first 2 (by 2-21/2 months) and now I'm already getting chubby. But I guess there's nothing we can do about it. I think it's that your belly muscles remember being loose from the previous one and is just preparing for what's to come. It'll be great, don't worry!

I showed a full 3 weeks earlier then I did with my son. I carry very large all belly anyway so that means even more people assume I am having twins when they hear I still have 8 weeks left then when I had my son. I just carry forward, and I have big babies. My son was 10lbs at birth, due on the 13th, born on the 14th.

So feel the same way. I thought it was weird because I'm a big girl in the first place so I've felt extra "fat" LoL but my weight has stayed around the same give or take a pound or 2. I've heard of showing early with your second but I didn't think it would actually happen. I'm 9 weeks and I already have broke down and bought a pair of maternity pants but they are a little big.

YES! I clearly look really pregnant and am only 7 weeks. I just read that you show faster with a second pregnancy. I have the same problem. We havent told family yet, and Im scared they have already noticed. I dont think keeping it a secret is much of an option this time around!

I was in marternity clothes at 8 weeks! I 19 weeks now and have looked about 20 weeks for the past 5. I think its pretty normal to start showing faster during a second pregnancy.

i was in maternity pants at 8 weeks pregnant with my second baby, i havent gained any weight so it seems weird to me but my daughter is only 21 months so it hasent been long since i was pregnant

I totally know how you feel. With my first child I didn't have to wear maternity clothes till I was about 5-6 month pregnant. I am now pregnant with our second child and about 17 weeks and have already started wearing maternity clothes. I was very surprised that I "popped" so soon.

it works that way. you show sooner with each pregnancy. im only 15 weeks and am as big as my friend who is 30 weeks. no hiding it this time around, lol

With each subsequent pregnancy, you will show sooner. I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my third. With my first, I didn't show until 24 weeks. With my second, I showed around 12 weeks. With this one, I began showing at around 8 weeks. If you're wanting to keep it quite, I recommend wearing looser clothes (i.e. babydoll tops, etcetera). Definitely do not wear pj's unless you normally do or that will send up a red flag. Good luck!

I'm feeling the exact same way. I'm just starting my 7th week, but I haven't been able to do up my pants for a couple of weeks now. I had to get a belly band to help, but even then I think maternity pants aren't going to be that far in coming. The crappy part of that is that I lost a bunch of weight since my first one, so none of the pants I had before fit so I'll have to re-invest. Boo! haha

I started showing WAY sooner with this pregnancy than I did with my first. This time, by 8 weeks I was already unable to button my jeans (even tho I lost weight from being so sick). I am now 33 weeks pregnant and am bigger this time than I was last time even tho I've gained less weight.

They say your second pregnancy starts showing sooner, i did with my second. Your body has already stretched for pregnancy once before so it doesn't really have to do it all over again! By 12 weeks with my second i was already in maternity clothes. Its very common, so nothing to be worried about
