Wow I am going to try this. I am just wondering if you can do this when you buy mostly fruits, veggies, and dairy. We don't eat a lot of breads. Do any of you know if this can work on that kind of a diet? Thanks!

i think i need to start looking into buying the sunday paper for coupons, and do the same because the way things are going financially right now this will come in handy.

I don't get it either. They make it sound so simple but it's not. I've tried the grocery game and you do save but they suggest a lot of coupon combining-using a manufacturer coupon plus store coupon at the same time when something is on sale to get it for next to nothing but lately Kroger will only let me use one coupon per item period and then with the coupon fraud they frown on the coupons you print off the computer so they have to keep calling supervisors to approve them and some just wouldn't work or scan right so they would toss them. It was very frustrating. Plus the concept was to stock up on the sale items to hold you until the next time it went on sale. Well in my family if I had 5 boxes of a certain kind of cereal (I never could afford to stock up on some things for the 3 month period they suggested in addition to my regular groceries) then my kids would eat all 5 boxes in a week or whatever it was-it never lasted. So the hours I spent finding the coupons, clipping and sorting them, making out my grocery lists acc. to my coupons, finding the correct size and brand in the store (which they were always out of something), and checking out which took ten times longer since they had to constantly find supervisors to approve while everyone else waiting was rolling their eyes just wasn't worth the time or money I saved. I'll just went back to shopping at Save a Lot and Walmart where I save without all that work! But to those that make it work like that lady I say kudos!

OMG, I feel so stupid for all the money I've wasted. And for all the stuff I've told my kids they couldn't get because we didn't have the extra money! I'm going to start right away on modeling my self after this INCREDIBLE woman!!!!!

THAT IS AMAZING! I think I might really have to start paying attention to my coupons better!

I think this is a great idea but what sort of foods does she buy? I don't like to allow a lot of snackie type food in my house unless it's fruit or vegetables.

Wow...my mom was an amazing coupon clipper, but I've never been bothered. I may have to rethink my position on coupon clipping.

check out the grocery game www.thegrocerygame.com she does the work of matching coupons to sales. Its a subscription site, and I saved a good bit when I was a member, I only dropped it because she doesn't yet include two grocery stores that are in my area- one of which I prefer to shop at. I think I saved more than the annual subscription in my first month, and I didn't even have most of the coupons! You will need to start getting your newspaper, check and find out when your coupons come out (for us its mostly Sunday some areas have some midweek too)

I once had a woman in front of me at Kroger who had two HUGE carts full of stuff and a big envelope of coupons. They offered to open another lane but I wanted to watch her! lol She got those two huge carts full of stuff for $18!! It was awesome to just watch her shop. It was like a military operation, lol She had 4 or 5 kids with her. The two oldest had their own lists and were filling up one cart, the littler ones were helping her look for things on the shelves. By the time they were done (and I did applaud!) she loaded the car with groceries and the little kids, left the bigger kids in the parking lot with another cart full cuz she didn't have room and would have to make a second trip to pick up the rest. It was AWESOME!!

I don't even know her name and she is my hero!!
