for the last two years I have saved money on my daughters party invites. Rather than spend £3 for approx 20 invites, I bought plain cards and drew my own designs (I kept it basic - this year I drew a cupcake with a candle on it!). Only cost me half the price and the same can be applied for thank you notes!

Also, you can print them out on your computer. I like to....if I have time....make my own cakes. I'm not a great decorator but it only cost about $3.00 if I make it myself. If you buy construction paper...the kids can have a great time making thier own party decorations. I have TONS of money saving party tips. I love parties. lol.
