black friday shopping with kids??

i ended up having to take my son 9mths old to walmart with me. he just chillded out. wouldnt sleep thou because he was too nosy. we took his stroller and kept him occupied.

i got my mom to watch my son..my husband wasnt happy about it(He doesnt like my father being around our son...so he doesnt let him go to my parents house unless we're there) but yea i got everything i wanted and then some..nothing really for me:( was to worried about getting the kids stuff and my husbands stuff that i forgot about me..i must have timed it out right cuz i got into 3 stores walmart at 12:01 kmart got there at 430(but they didnt open till 5 walked straight in) and best buy got to skip the whole check out line by having connections.

I did it, took my little girl to the Toys R Us sale Thursday night at 10pm....crazy madhouse...next year we will do it again, just wont be bringing kids along with us, only because it was so rough waiting in a long line and trying to keep her occupied the whole time. My husband went with me and I ended up drawing in a coloring book with her while he waited in a 2 hour checkout line....hope you got what you were going for at your doorbuster deals, I know we did even if it was 5 hours long!!!

I agree with Katherine, it's just the one day. If you do a little preparation.. food, toy, warm clothes, I think you will be fine. If you are saving money... couldn't hurt. If it's too much hassle you don't have to do it next year. lol Have fun!

It's only one day of messing up his schedule, he'll be fine!
I'm not taking my kids for the simple fact that I don't have to :) I have a 20mo, so I know how it is.

some of the sales go on for 3 days, there is really good deals for the "Early Birds" I was just looking at that, and the "early Birds" are only saving about 5 or 10dlls, so check on the sales if they are going to only be in the morning or are they going to be all weekend. it would say online, I am going with no kiddo I have a 4 year old, and the presents Im gettin are only costing me 120, which is a good deal!!

The main thing i wanted to get a gps(for my husband)..is a door buster..the rest is clothes and stuff for the kids, and kitchen stuff for me...i didnt even think about flu season..the pediatician only cost 30 bucks but i would hate for my boy to be sick

I'd honestly have to say it would be a judgment call on your part. I'd be more worried about keeping an eye on the baby around the black Friday insanity, and it being flu season and all... all those people... If he gets sick, how much would you spend on the pediatrician? More than $60?
But that's just me. What you could try, is if that stuff isn't door buster stuff, go later in the day after the mania has died down. I've generally gotten what I needed later on in the day.
