To save money we buy in bulk and freeze a lot.

I too buy in bulk. I like a local health food store for herbs and spices. I know some don't like getting their spices from a bin, but you can get herbs for sooo much less than the bottled, prepackaged ones from the grocery. (eg. Thyme is 10.99 a pound and you get $1.50 worth to fill the bottle!) I also get couscous, rice, and oatmeal there. I keep the containers from the original herb/spice/oatmeal and refill it.

I'll have to start price checking more and I wonder if sams takes coupons?

When you freeze meat- make sure it is vacuumed seal or in freezer bags or it will get freezer burn and just wasted.

We discovered that buying meat in the family sizes worked really well that way, but some of the other things are not necessarily cheaper bulk.
