Clothes shopping......$$$ Saving tips!

These are how I go shopping for my kids and save money while doing it.......

1) Buy in off seasons-Means if its the middle of the summer hit the clearance racks you will probably find winter clothes for super cheap!

2)Buy large-When the shirt you want to get only comes in a larger size then get it because its wearable longer.

3)If you have a toddler and they are in size 3T, Skip over to the big kid section you are more likley to find an equivalant at a cheaper price. (XS)(4)

4)Iron on patches are great for the kids that dont grow out of there pants quickly and you can let them pick out what design they like. You can even put them on old shirts to make them look new. OR a demin jacket that was on sale that you found in the boys section, add a Minnie Mouse Iron on for your daughter! LOL Ya I did that!

I have 2 boys ages 10 and 12 and a 4 year old daughter... I love yard sales & thrift stores My 10 year old usualy get hand me downs depending on the quality still left.. my kids are hard on clothes and shoes. Its summer time and yard Sales HERE we come

GARAGE SALES!!! I have bought complete outfits before (shirts,pants, shoes) at garage sales for sometimes less than $1. Also buy off clearance racks, and buy off-season. If I'm lucky we will get hand-me-downs.

We go to thrife stores and I sew my daughter's clothes since she's one size in the waist and another in length. She likes getting clothes that no one else in her school has. If you don't know how to sew I learned from the book sewing for dummies and it works great for us.

I went to the second hand children's store a few days ago and got two pairs of pants, a sleep sack and a Jolly Jumper for $25.00. It's so nice to be able to buy inexpensive clothes - specially when they grow so fast : )

I have a 3 year old son and a 11 month old son, all the clothes for the 3 year becomes either play at home clothes for the younger one or become pyjamas for the younger one. Also buying off season has helped me buy cheaper clothes. Sometines i buy something which they share at different occassions because the younger one is bigger in size.

I love consignment store not only can you get super cheap clothes but you can also get money or store credit my selling your old clothes.

You'd be surprised what you can pick up from garage sales and second hand shops. i picked up a pair of manchester soccer shorts fro my son for $2 the other week. and a mate of mine picked up about 10 pairs of kids socks for same price at a garage sale...crazy, half of them were still new!
plus you might find something for urself....
in hardly ever pay full price for anything...! :)

We love thrift stores, we ask when they have their bag sales and make sure to go on those days and we have friend swaps here. Every three months a group of of get together and bring the clothes, shoes and toys that our kids have outgrown and we lay them out and we swap items with each other. This has really been great for us all we get new clothes and what we don't swap we donate to the thrift store we go to so we also get the tax credit. (We are working on a mom item swap soon too).

Goodwill and Craigslist. I find people selling big bags or boxes of clothes on craigslist. I haven't bought "new' clothes for my son since he was 6 months old (he is 2 1/2).

Goodwill, ... where i get some of my daughters clothes hence kids go thru the clothes so quickly . I watch for when its 50% off days. I even signed up for there monthly newsletter that sends me printable coupons that saves me $$. I get good quality clothing for my daughter and for the rest of my family aswell.

Ya I do the handme downs too! My daughter has an older cousin and when we get shirts that arnt in the best condition they get turned in nightgowns. Otherwise I hold on to them!

My son is tall and skinny. He is 8 but can wear a size 6 in pants but the are to short. So cut them off and make shorts out of them.

Any shirts that have a stain on them then goes to pj shirts for him then on the nightgowns for my younger girls.

I get a lot of their clothes at childrens place. I only go when they have the monster sale 50% off and then I use a 25% coupon. I got long sleeve shirts there last year for $1.00

Now my clothes are a different story. I have the same pair of jeans for at least 8 years. I got hand me down dress clothes from my mother in law. My husband wears a uniform.
