I'm sure a lot of people already do this, but I shop for my 9 year old daughter at second hand stores. Mainly Goodwill. There used to be a negative stereotype attached to anything that came from these types of places. But it only makes sense ,no matter what tax bracket your in, when u have a growing child. At elementary school age, you will be lucky if they wear something an entire year! Especially pants and shoes. U would be amazed at how many designer brand childrens clothes I have found at Goodwill. For example......Bobby Jack t shirt $1......JLO jeans $4......Aeropostle hoodie $2......MUDD jacket $2.......Chuck Taylor shoes #3. I have even found BRAND NEW backpacks for $2! Thre's so much more that I can't even think of right now. Just make sure u check the item for holes or stains. And they DO take returns.

i have found the best consignment shop here!! she is very picky about what she will take so you know your only getting the best. she just had a clearance sale last week and everything was half off...i walked out of there with a huge bag of clothes for my kids for $14!! you can't even buy one outfit at walmart for that price anymore. i take my gently used clothes in that my kids have outgrown and keep the money that i've made in my account for store credit on new ones. works for me! and i LOVE yard sales...looking foward to those starting up again. i found a brand new velvet dress for christamas for my daughter last year for 10cents!!!!!

Go to the bargain stores to buy your kids clothes cause its cheaper and they also grow out of them too fast wait till there teenagers before you buy brand name clothing, their young and they dont know what fashion is

Bins r a great idea! If I had the space, I would do that. I do buy things big sometimes. If it doesn't fit now, they will always grow into it! We don't have those bag sales here, I'd love to run into one of those! Thanks for the comments ladies, have a blessed weekend!!

I love thrift shops. I've been going to garage sales and thrift shops since I was 16. I'm raising three well dressed kids too. I like to shop clearances to. I have about 15 bins of clothes stacked up in the garage because if it will fit them in the next year or two I'll shove it in a bin. I don't school shop at all...just just go through bins.
I love running into bag sales. I live in the boonies and there's not much up here for shopping, but there is a resale shop in town that once in a while has bag sales for $1 a bag.

I don't think there's anything wrong with shopping at Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc... Around back to school time many of them will have special sales where you can get even better deals. Also, I just moved recently but in the last town we lived both the Goodwill and the Thrift stores had certain days of the week where they had bag sales...you could stuff a bag for $5. I donate my teenager's outgrown, name brand, still good, stuff all the time and know that what goes around, comes around.

We have a local *Thrift Store* that I recycle at - Oldest wears until she outgrows - if it is too girlie it gets donated - if not it gets put in a storage case for the 2 year old! The kids stuff they have is 1.00 - can*t beat that with a STICK!! :>
