I had watched this show and this women had saved 100's of dollars using coupons. Her bill was 900 something and she only had to pay 56.00. How in the world did she do that. I use coupons and i am still spending 100's a month. Some of the coupons are items i would normally not use or buy the item. I am finding my self buying just so i can say i saved .50cents. I don't get it. Is the really a way. I do use places to print out, i walk around the neighborhood and collect unused papers to get there coupons and i use the ones i get in the mail. Someone please help me save or teach me another method. Thank you

thekrazycouponlady.com Check it out, she is one of the ladies from the show you are talking about and she shows you how to do it. It's really neat. I'm just getting started myself but I've already gotten some good deals. :)

For one thing, don't buy it unless you were planning to anyway, you are spending more instead of saving more if you buy things you don't normally buy, just cause you have a coupon for it. If you wait till the item goes on sale then use a manufacturers coupon, and a store coupon (some stores will double coupons) and if you can get their store card, you swipe the card and you get a disscount (I have a kmart/sears, & a shopko card) I think the key is to wait till the item goes on sale, and only buy what you usually do. Also I think this lady hits all the sales, like she goes every week.
So lets say tissues went on sale this week and over the last few weeks she was saving coupons and waiting for them to go on sale, now she buys 5 boxes of tissues (to last till they go on sale again), She has 5 manufacturers coupons, 5 store coupons and this store doubles coupons so its like she had 20 coupons in all, then she has their store card and she gets a discount, then you can use a credit card (which I think is Discover where you get so much back for every dollar you spend) So you get the picture, she probably didn't spend a penny on those tissues. It takes a while till you know your stores sales and there coupon policy, and enough coupons saved up. Good luck

Shop somewhere you can stack coupons.

e.g. Walgreens allows you to use 1 manufacturer's coupon and multiple store coupons on an item. Hand them the manuf. coupons first and then the store coupons. (you can get overage from store coupons but not manuf.) So if you can match up a sale item say BOGO free. If the item is 6.00 and you BOGO, then use 2 manuf. coupons.(one for each item) that are .75 each and a storecoupon for $1 off 2 you are getting 12.00 worth of product for $3.50.

It takes some research, but you can do it.

Also, Kroger doubles coupons up to 99 cents. and Wal mart accepts other stores coupons but only takes one coupon per item and limit of 40 total per transaction.

There are somethings that look like good deals but aren't. Most of the time BOGO sales aren't very good ones, since you might have come for only one but you get the second since it is on sale even though you wouldn't have otherwise. Unless you go in planning on buying two it isn't worth it.

I only take coupons for things I'm going to buy. If I don't plan on getting yogurt, why take the coupon?

I stopped used the bread coupons and now I get the reduced price ones that need to be sold now. I freeze them and they last at least a week in the pantry. So instead of spending 1.50 on bread I spend 69 cents.

I do the same with meats, only those have to be either frozen or used that day. I buy brand name cheese because I don't like the additives in the store brand.

I also got a Costco card. Daipers are so much cheaper at Costco over the regular grocery store.

I buy canned tuna in the winter for fish (I don't like the salmon). We live in the Northwest US so in the summer we can get fish cheap a Sockeye Salmon is often $3 a lb and that will last at least 2 meals.

I found that frozen chicken is that great of a deal. Since it has a lot of water added to it to help it freeze better, it ends up a lot smaller after cooked.
