My kids want snacks all day long. So every week I buy heaps of fruit put it on a tray in the fridge and when the kids want a snack, I let them choose what they want off the tray. Fruit is cheap and healthy. For $4 I can get 6 oranges, for $4 I can get 10 small apples, for $4 I can get 5 bananas, for $4 I can get 6 pears, for $4 I can get up to a kilo of grapes, for $4 I can get half a watermelon. For $24 I can have enough fruit to last 2 weeks. If I brought other non-healthy even so called healthy packaged foods I can spend up to twice as much each week. Processed packaged chips, lcm bars, roll ups, ect, do not fill your little one up, it will stop the hunger but only breifly, they will be back wanting more of that sugar you just gave them. Fruit will fill them up and keep them full at least until the next meal, and if it doesn't who cares its CHEAP and HEALTHY. If you think my kid wont eat fruit, YOUR WRONG. No child will starve themselve, if it is all they are offered eventually they will eat it and probably like it.
