I noticed that one of the onions in my pantry had little sprouts, So I've decided that I am going to plant it, as well as a potatoe,... neither has been planted yet, but both are doing great!

I am also Germinating Peas and Green onions! ...

though I know a bit about gardening ... I would love if someone would share the basics!

I've just moved into a house that I can garden in, I've been doing container gardens for the past five years and can hardly wait to start really digging in soil again this year. This is a great tip - economical and organic (if you choose).

Quoting Maria:

I plan to start a garden this year. i never had one and I'm not sure how to start.

I am right there with you. I would love to start gardening, but I have no idea where to start. If anyone has any ideas, I would be very appreciative.

We grow our own cherry tomatoes and herbs. We just started so I hope to do better this comming year. I'm very interested in gardening, just not very good at it.

Gardening is a great idea.  My family owns a farm so we help out with the garden and in return get lots of fruits and veggies.  I live in town but will make a small garden this year plus the one at my parents place.  My daughter is 3 and loves gardening.

Not only is it budget friendly...but fresh vegetables and fruits are great for you!  I think that lots more people will  be planting a garden this year!

My children get involved also and pick something that they want to grow.  They help plant it and then they are more willing to eat it if they are involved.  My kids are still young so this theory might change.....but for now it works!!

some of my fondes childhood memories was gardening with my grandfather. we bought our house 10 years ago and have had a veg. garden every year. my kids get to pick out something new to try every year in their own garden. plus we have so much our friends get to come over and pick their own. its a great way to tech kids responsibility. they love to check on the growing progress every night before ed.

Yes Gardening is fun.  I myself when I was married I use to can veggies from our garden, and made jelly from our fruit trees and even apple sauce.
