Has any one got/had a toddler/baby that sleeps 12+ a night?

I also asked the doctor about my son sleeping so much. friends even said i should wake him up and he was sleeping too much, thats all crap babies need lots of sleep and a 17 month old is still a baby :)

My son is 10 months old and sleep around 10-12 hrs a night. He hates taking naps and if you try waking him up before he wants to he will be cranky most of the day. As someone who is employed full time and full time college student, I find it to be a blessing. We just started daycare this week, so hopefully he will either go to sleep earlier or just sleep a few hours less since he will have a different routine.

MY SON WHO IS 20 MONTHS NOW SLEEPS VERY LONG HE CAN GO TO BED EARLY AND WAKE UP SO LATE AND HE IS PERFECTLY FINE I DONT THINK U SHOULD WORRY MY ELDERS JUST SAY THEY ARE GROWING AND TO LET THEM BE AND HE EVEN TAKES A NAP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY!!

My 13 month old sleeps from 8:30-9PM until about 11:30 sometimes 12:30 the next day. Always has. I have tried getting him up earlier, and he just isn't having it. He has a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

my daughter sleeps 13 hours every night frm 5pm til 9am has done since a year old funny thing is when shes supposed to be having a growth spurt that is when she decides to get up during the night. i think long hours are normal i know i used to get super cranky as a kid if i didnt get 12 hours sometimes i still do! haha

My now 2 and a half year old sleeps for nearly 11 hours, sometimes 12 hours every night and STILL has an afternoon nap of at least 2-3 hours. She has been like this from birth... just dropped a naptime. I wouldnt be too concerned at all. I am definitely not concerned about my daughter sleeping such long hours. As you said they eat and are active so just think that we are blessed!

My son slept 9 hours our second night home... from about 3 weeks he slept 12-14 hours per night and napped during the day. At 8 months now he is sleeping 11 1/2 hours per night and has 3 one hour naps during the day.

my daughter is 15 months old, shes always been a long sleeper. Since she cut down to one nap, she did this by herself actually she takes a nap around noon each day last about 2 hours max. I put her in bed at 6:30 so she pretty much sleeps from around 7ish at night to 8 in the morning on average. I dont think its anything to worry about at all.

My son regularly sleeps 12 hours... There are days like today that he sleeps beyond that. He is super active and eats alot. So I have never worried. Some children just have a different sleeping habit then others.

My daughter is now 5 years old and on average sleeps 12 hours a night...her very first 13 hour night was when she was only a few weeks old. Of course my husband laughs at me sometimes because I'm cranky about not getting enough sleep and his response is...But honey you had at least 10 hours.

I guess it has a lot to do with parent's habits... I wouldn't worry, especially if he's active and happy, etc

my son sleep 10-12 hours a night. He's 10 months old. I take it as a blessing :) He only takes a 2 hour nap during the day. He just loves to be where the action is :)

my little girl is three years old and she sleeps 12 hours+ at night, shes been sleeping through since she was 6 weeks old. I feel is normal because if i wake her up earlier she tends to nap in the day.

my daughter slept 12 + hours for a while, she still does when she hits a growth spurt......as long as your doctor is comfortable I say enjoy a little "me time"

my 4 year old sleeps anywhere from 10-14 hours a night...depending on how tired we got her the day before! sometimes she will fall asleep on the couch or in the car but for the most part won't take naps anymore. and my 11 month old sleeps 12-13 hours a night and takes two 2 hour naps a day too...sometimes 3 hours. when i told the dr she was shocked that he was such a good sleeper but wasn't worried cause he's totally healthy!! so if your dr isn't concerned then you shouldn't be.

Yes, I have a child that does the same...12-15 hours not unusual for mine. Been that way since about a year old. : )

My fifteen month old sleeps from seven at night until about eight or eight-thirty in the morning. And on top of that he has been taking three hour naps. I think it might be a growth spurt, but for your little boy, I don't know. I know some kids who don't need very much sleep (like four hours a night), your little baby just might be on the other end of that spectrum. As long as he is healthy, I think most mom's would envy you.
