Buy Walmart brand. Thats what we buy. It is cheap to begin with, and it is always on sale! It is just as good as name brand but like 1/4 of the price!

Important info, age, not included in your situation. If your baby is 6 months old or older, he should be receptive to some fruits and vegetables. If he is a year old or older and learns to eat some foods, his pediatrician may allow him to drink homogenized milk. While on formula, the powdered type is much more reasonable than the canned or ready-to-drink.Since you are a stay-at-home mom you may have time to prepare the formula everyday, provided that you don't have other children to care for. Some moms pick up a hundred dollars or more a week caring for another child near their child's age. This should help off-set your baby's food and other expenses.Besides that, you are giving the other baby loving care that the next sitter may not provide so well.

Are you using a name brand, because if you r u may want to check a no brand name. We have been using a name brand for 9 month and when I went to the baby store w my hubby he went and checked the ingridients between the formula we were using and the no name brand and he found one w the exact same ingridients in the same order and quantity and now that saves us about $12 per large can

WIC- Are you kidding. I wish that we could apply for WIC. The thing is that we are a one income family, as we choose for me to stay at home. My husband pays 1K a month for child support and now the 18 year old came to live with us so he can graduate high school on time. Bad news...we still have to pay 1K to the ex-wife...good news...we're going to court and get a credit for the time the 18 year old lives with us (while in school). Sucks because she gets all the benefits the state has to offer, as she refuses to get a job, and my husband makes to much money before taxes, child support, dential, health, and everything else is taken out. The state doesn't look at that factor. We are barely making it and hoping that the court situtation comes through real soon. Seems that those that do good don't get any benefits or a break, where those that use the system...I'm sorry but they get everything. SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.

I buy the Sams' club brand. Members Mark. It's just around $20 a can. It goes a long way. I was using a brand name for the first month or two then thought, "She can try the generic." She does fine on it.

I would not force solid food on him if he is not ready. Often, babies who don't want solids just aren't ready for them or perhaps have an allergy they are trying to tell you about. How old is he?

Pretty much coupons are worth clipping. Newspaper, online, and even the so-called junk mail has plenty at times. Honestly it's best to get him to eat adult food by rewarding him with a story or something similar. I am going throw it now with my son and it’s a work that is progressing good and well worth it.

also check out www.alice.com
they have free shipping AND apply any coupons they can find. i don't buy formula or diapers anymore but this might be another resource. and if not for those items, maybe for others.

i LOVE alice! :)

Buy generic. Formula is HIGHLY regulated and monitored. The generic formulas are just as good as the name brands and are often much much cheaper, even when you take into account the coupons/ formula checks you can get.

BTW, I checked out diapers.com a while back, and did not find any savings at all there, compared to my local stores, but maybe it is different elsewhere.

Buy in bulk from Sam's Club, Costco, or Amazon.com. You could also try Diapers.com. Good luck!
