I'm a frugal living blogger and have taught hundreds of thousands over the years how to coupon. I highly recommend checking out moneysavingmom.com. She is one of the best there is and will help you save money in LOTS of areas. She has great ebooks and can refer you to good people. BargainBriana is another one of my favorites.
Second, you CANNOT double a BOGO coupon. Big no-no. But re-reading what I think the previous poster meant to say was that if the item is on sale for BOGO, you may use a coupon on each item at many stores. Not all stores allow this, but many will because they get reimbursed for the coupons. Check your local store policies.
Third, they're right, don't believe what you see on tv. I've filmed so many of those and let me tell you, what you see is mostly real--but it's a very unique shopping trip that is usually with the store special ordering stuff and so much is left out of the piece. I would spend four hours at a store with a tv news crew for a three minute segment. Much of what I said or did was chopped out because of time, so what you see on tv is a tiny piece of what the person did to get the great deals.
Fourth, the best way to learn is in a group. Check out AFullCup.com or HotCouponWorld.com. There are thousands of savers there who post great deals, share tips and answers newbie questions. Blogs will have the local grocery sale and coupon matchups for your area--you clip the coupons you need and go to the store.

Well first off what you see on tv or often hear is not the norm. I have been couponing for years and yes sometimes I get things for free or for really cheap, but it depends on the stores coupon policies and what is a available in your area.
I try to match up coupons according to sales. My stores you can use your savings card, or a coupon from the store and a manufacturer one.
Getting the Sunday paper and several of them, signing up for the coupon sites.
I also just don't get things I will not use even if they are free.
I use to coupon when I liveed in another state. I lived in the city and the coupon value was greater. Having moved to a rural area, the coupons and deals are not so plentiful. i got started again, watching an episode of extreme couponing. My couponing works best at Walgreens and CVS. I save the most money from these two stores. I also subscribe to All You Magazine. It has some great tips and coupons.

If you go to the website www.southernsavers.com it will tell you everything you need to know about couponing. That's what site I would use when I was couponing. It got a little overwhelming so I quit plus I don't have the room to keep all of the extra stockpile but if your giving it away then that would be perfect.

I am obsessed with that show Extreme Couponing!!! I tried looking for coupons online, in Sunday papers, local circulars, even my mom's pile... but the most I ever saved with coupons & sales was PATHETIC compared to those extreme couponers. Seriously, where do they find ALL those coupons and end up paying nothing for hundreds of $ worth of groceries?!?

Before going shopping online always check coupon codes for items you are going to buy. Everyone can find deals by using a search engine. During online shopping time I use websites like couponcodeday.com to find discounts for retailers. You can also join mailing list of online merchants website to receive special discounts directly in your email.

I use SavingStar.com to save cash. They have great deals on stuff I use every day and these new One or Many offers that offer $5 in savings when you spend a certain amount over a duration of time and typically you have a month or more to meet the threshold.

I read Greatest Secrets of the Coupon Mom by Stephanie Nelson and it has a lot of great tips. I am trying to master matching circulars and coupons now... I am learning too. The best I've gotten is going to BJ's Wholesale with a $5 off Huggies store coupon with another $1 off manufacturer coupon. It was originally like $36 and I got 246 diapers for $30. It may not seem like much but it adds up in the long run.
