Not sure where you are from but the chain Daycares I would say are the best. This is because they are accredited and by law are up to date with the latest licensing and teaching practices. Some centers will allow you to visit for a day or a week and watch what goes on day to day. I used to be a teacher and I was certified with a teaching degree. This is another area you will want to check. Make sure they are not just highschool kids making a quick buck.

Try a community based centre they are usually cheaper. If you are in Aust try the DOCS and NCAC websites for highly accredited centres in your area.

I work in a daycare and I know what you mean about costs! Have you tried looking into home daycare, sometimes you can find it a bit less costly. Your may be able to get some assistance covering the cost of childcare if you find a licensed centre that offers something like that. I know parents that get it and it just helps cover the little bit that they can't afford. Worth looking into:o) Good luck!
