I wanted to share this information with other moms that was posted on one of my favorite living well websites:

Abbott Laboratories, maker of Similac infant formula, is recalling millions of containers of the powdered formula due to potential contamination of beetles and/or beetle larvae. The liquid and ready-to-feed containers are not affected.

Visit their site to see if the containers you have are affected http://similac.com/recall/default.asp...

I have a FB page that I share lots of great tips and information like this if you want to check out my page and become a fan.

My WIC office had signs up... I even heard that they sent out letters to the mothers who used it (I breastfeed so I didn't get one).

I even got a letter from Similac saying that there was a recall. They sent me some free samples when I was pregnant. I was so happy to see that letter even though I didn't have it anymore.

Thanks for the Hip Green Tips for moms!I think i was one of the last people to know about the recall on the Similac! My son is only 2 months and i couldnt figure out why he was so constipated and he would cry like it really hurt him to pass gas. Also tightened up his body wen someone tried to rub his stomach!I didnt know anything about the recall so all the formula i had was during the time of the recall.I'm thinkin that's why he was having trouble using the bathroom, because i had some of the cans that were contaminated. Now that i've gotten new formula he's fine.Althought my Wic office failed to give me notification of this recall. They knew nothing about it when I had called them!

I heard about this too, my sister had one of her sons on Similac a long time ago and she always said it gave him stomach pains so she switched to Enfamil... I luckly dont use similac because of that and after finding out about the contamination, I was really glad I never used it...

Thank you! We don't use this brand, but always good to know so we can pass it along!
