We limit how much we eat out. I want as much control over what my kids eat as possible.

I pack their lunch everyday for school because I don't want them eating school food which can be high in fat. ($12 a week each) I also do not allow them to eat fast food except for maybe once month. They consider it a treat and I don't have to feel guilty. My kids do love subway and would rather have a salad at a restaurant rather than french fries. Just because they are kids does not mean that they can't eat healthy. I don't want my kids to only know McDonald's!!

We are also cutting back on eating out and also cutting back on our Tim Horton stops. It's amazing when you figure out how much money you spend on coffee alone for a week. It doesn't seem like alot at the time but looking back at the end of the week its alot and also times 2 since my boyfriend also make coffee stops before and after work. I am putting away my extra money that i would have spent on coffee in a safe place and have promised myself not to dip into it. I am also doing the same with my cigarette money since i quit a month ago.. When my dad quit drinking he put the money he would spend on booze every week away and never touched it, he saved enough money to buy my mom a living room set. I was so proud of him.
