Get a sealed savings box, starting on January 01, I let my daughter put aside a dollar a day as her way of having spending money for christmas of that year. Most days she hits me up for the dollar bill but I don't mind. She reminds me and I encourage her. The first year she had $300 (yes we missed a couple days), but then I decided to expand that to two dollars a day. Thereby both of us have a little extra for christmas shopping. And she actually thinks she is rich. smiles

What a great idea!! teaching them to save now is one of the best things you can teach them!!

What a great idea! I can already see the kids smiling ear to ear.... plus it will teach them value of money when they spend it and have to keep a 'budget' in mind!
