I am sorry I don't have much too add other then watching sales and thinking ahead. I love my freezer and buy bulk meats then sepreate them into meal sized protions.

Bulk is a good way to go sometimes but only if you watch the price per pound. It may be more cost-effective to buys lots of smaller packages. I also catch fresh meats on sale and then separate and freeze them.

Another thing to get in the habit of doing is knowing what a fair price is for the products that you use. For instance, Tide for a 100 oz. jug should be around $5. Canned sodas (12 oz.) should be no more than 25 cents each, so therefore a 12-pack should be no more than $3. Dove bar soap is about a dollar a bar so a 6-bar pack should be no more than $6. Just because an item is in a sales paper doesn't mean that the price is really a great deal.
