I use the Dave Ramsey envelope system and when the money is gone, it's gone. I find that when I have to pay with cash, I actually think twice about purchases, even if its less than $5. No credit cards--just cash or debit.

We bought his kit at the seminar we attended and it has a Personal Finance Software CD that you can download and input all your budget stuff.

Me too. But, I figured since I am pulling out together my financial data for tax preparation that it would be the perfect time to download the software and do it all at once.

I need to use the Dave Ramsey method! I've watched, listened and read his book and still haven't committed myself to do anything just yet. It tells me where to start, I'm just afraid of the initial "figuring it all out!"

I recently went to the Dave Ramsey seminar and can't wait to put all his tips into play. My husband is the "free spirit" of the family which can be a challenge! :-)

I agree! I used to ALWAYS pay with a credit card, but since we switched to cash, we have saved so much!

I'm glad to hear it's working so well. It's been working great for us, too! I'm amazed at how much of a difference it has made to use cash for more things.
