My husband and I have been able to take a family vacation every year which doesn't really cost us a fortune. We simply save our "change". If something comes to $5.01 we give $6.00 and collect the change in a giant jar.

When the jar gets full, we roll them up and take them to the bank to deposit into our savings account. I'm telling you that change adds up. We are able to save almost $3000 in one year! We withdrawel our money and we use it to pay for our lodging and gas to get there. With those huge expenses out of the way, we don't really need to save that much once we get there.

We always stop at those "coupon" centers when we get close to the area that we are staying at and they have HUGE savings in them. I also save money by cooking most of our meals in our condo on vacation. That way we can save our money to do fun things we like. The kids and my husband end up pitching in when we cook so it ends up being a bonding experience for all of us.

Save your change people. I'm not kidding. It really adds up!

Wow! That's a good idea. I think our family will try this.
