My oldest 2 children were 15 months apart, and I had a sit-n-stand. The car seat fit in the front seat, and the back seat had the option to sit backward (facing mom) or to stand up and face foward. This allowed the older child to see what was going on, and sit when tired. Due to the way that it was made it was not any bigger than the one child stroller that fit the car seat.

i say double! your first child is still very young and will want to ride in the stroller too!

I have two boys that are 10 months apart and I really enjoyed the double stroller. It comes in very handy. Especially since you have two so close together, it would probably be in your best interest. I'd consider scoping out some garage sales or second hand shops. They're used, but a whole lot cheaper than buying it new.

Double! You don't have to bring it with you everywhere, but there will be times--trips to the zoo!--where you really need that extra space. I'm not a big person, but I was able to hoist a folded-up double into the back of our car without much trouble.

I would say double would be better too..especially with two young children on the way. Being a first time mom. I was even considering getting a double but with only one on the way. a single seemed like the way to to go. Also , have you looked in on the double strollers that just have a place for your older daughter to sit or stand..not as big and then she can ride if she wants or walk too? Best of luck!

I like my Kolorcraft Contours Options Tandem stroller.
It is larger than my single stroller, but not huge. It has options so you can choose how to arrange your kids. It also has an option to put in the car seat!
We often still use our single stroller. We like to put our newborn in a moby wrap (on my chest) and push our toddler in the stroller. The only drawback to this is that both myself and baby get a little warm when we are outside. Also, if I have to nurse I have no where to set her while I take off the wrap and put on a nursing cover.
I would consider if you are going to have baby in a carrier often or if your toddler will still want to sit in a stroller.

it all depends really on whether you go out very much by yourself. I have a 18 month old and 1 month old and use the double buggy, but have kept my single one from before with an additional cheap stroller for when I go somewhere with kids and either Dad or Grandma.

Personally I think a double would be better. Your daughter is still small and her little feet are going to get tired quickly when you are out. And if you only have a single stroller its either make her walk...someone carry her (which will make you tired) or someone carry the little one and her have the stroller. Plus if you have a stroller for both its going to cost much more, and take up twice as much room.
