We have two kids and one on the way, so date nights are few and far between. Most of our extra cash is spent on the kiddos. I have a found a few ways to save us some money, like using restaurants.com and signing up for e-mail coupons at our favorite restaurants. I can usually get a free appetizer every few months through e-mail. Another way I find discounts are through Fandango.com, you can check out one of their deals running right now....I plan on using this one myself. http://www.wahm.com/forum/penny-pinchers... I hope a few of these help, and if you have anything that works for to have a great date without breaking the bank please give other ideas :)

We do thinks like picnic under the stars, walk along the river or around the park. Sometimes a date night is after the kids are asleep he goes and gets dinner, i light candles and pick out a movie then turn the living room in to a little get away. We do lunch dates too cuts on eating out.

Something to keep in mind a date is what you make if it. It does not need to be dinner and a movie or dancing. Its more about the one on one time with the one you love.

I hardly ever go out to eat without a coupon. Or buy anything at full price for that matter!
You can find gift certificates for just about any major restaurant on Ebay. But even with a coupon it seems we always end up spending a lot of money. So, something that I like to do is replicate a meal I ate out. I know I can make things cheaper and you can find recipes online for a lot of chain restaurants too. Put the kids to bed, crack a bottle of vino, cook and enjoy!
I can't stand having buyers remorse after having dinner out. I'll buy a drink and think, "I could get a can of formula with a coupon for that and feed the baby for days". I can't help it :)

I'm glad you are getting out and having fun. Sorry to say, my husband and I don't go on dates. But once a week we go shopping together and out to breakfast or lunch -- kids along. Now they are in school, so we are alone. I still enjoy our time together and it feels like a date to me. We do go places with the kids though. I called into the radio station and won free tickets to the movies. I won 8 free tickets. We get to go twice. We don't buy anything there so we save lots of money. The food prices are outrageous! We had lots of fun and laughed the whole time!
