Hey there! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rachael and I am a mom of 2. I have a daughter, 5 and a son, 2. What do you find to be the best money saving trick?

Not sure I would couponing a "trick" but it certainly is a successful way to save money. For access to free coupons check out my website's coupon page, http://www.freebiefindingmom.com/free-pr...

Hope this helps.

I make a menu every week based on stuff I already have on hand. Then my weekly shopping trip is just for things we are out of and whatever I need to round out that weeks menu. We also choose a lot of store brand items. I have found that saves me more than trying to do the whole couuponing thing.

I make my own laundry detergent.

We try to pack lunches most days by using leftovers or even just pbj.

I only go to the super Walmart once a week - less trips means less gas, less spending on wants vs needs.

We each get $20 pocket money a week. Once it is gone, no getting more at the ATM. If we want to eat out for lunch, we have to use that pocket money.

We cut our own hair at home using clippers for the boys and I trim my own bangs. Once every 3-4 months I will go for a good cut .... But my style grows out nice with just keeping my bangs trimmed.

When we buy clothing, shoes, gifts I try very hard to pair that purchase with a store coupon and sale. I try hard to plan ahead for gift buying so I have time to exercise that practice.

We call places like our cable company and negotiate lower rates.

Going out usually means just getting together with friends at someone house and having a meal and hanging out. Typically we all provide some of the food etc.

Hope you find some good helpful tips along the way!

Can you pretty much freeze anything? And how long is it good for?

When my kids were small I would make dinners in bulk and freeze them. I would make lasagne and shepherds pies and stews so I always had a good wholesome food in the freezer ready rather than reaching for the take away menus when the day had just not gone to plan.
