I agree with Dollar Stores and Walmarts for supplies. Check ads and compare first. Thrift shops are great places for clothing and footwear. I must admit, I am glad I am out of this stage of my life!!

I don't know where you live, I'm in Missouri, and we have resale stores called Once Upon a Child that have great stuff. They carry gently used cloths for low prices. Really any resale shop is a money saver, Goodwill, Salvation Army, and even Thrift stores. As for school supplies, dollar stores saved my butt on my step sons things. Only ended up spending $20 for all his 1st grade supplies. Not including the backpack witch I got at Goodwill for $5 and it was spiderman so he thinks it's great with out the cost.

Definitely check out all the sale fliers first! Walmart has notebooks for 15cent a piece this week and a bunch of other things at low cost. But cross check those sales with drugs stores and places you wouldn't think of. Also Staples has a deal where you send in a mail in rebate for a free back pack.

get as much as you can at the dollar store, it is amazing how much you can get there... i love buying that stuff there, you get so much for so little ans save money for the higher priced items that u need (i would check out walmart for those) once school supplies are advertised... hope that helps

Freecycle.org is a great place to get back to school clothing and even some other items. AND the best thing is, it it all free! Not guaranteed that you will get it, but it is a great resource! There is also Craig's List. Walmart has a ton of stuff really cheap right before school starts.
