Just wondering if anyone has gone through IVF with frozen embryos. We have a wonderful little guy who was conceived through IVF/ICSI. We have 2 embryos frozen. I am just wondering what the procedure is as compared to the fresh cycle.

Hi, First of all good luck to all the couples going through ivf. A frozen transfer is so much easier than a full cycle. l just had to match up my cycle and go and get the transfer. l am just starting my 9 th full cycle. l have also had 6 frozen transfers. There is a higher chance of pregnency with a full cycle over frozen. Either way its hard not to be disappointed when ivf doe'nt work. Good luck. :-)

I am going to have a frozen embryo transfer tomorrow. So far I have been on estrace & low dose aspirin. I started the progesteron shot 4 days before the transfer. This will be my 1st frozen transfer. I have a son 2 1/2 from an IVF. these frozen embryos are from that reterival.

This is how my twins were conceived, actually they were triplets but we lost one at 8 weeks. I had 8 frozen embryos, 3 survived the thaw and they put all 3 inside of me. It worked for us, but I did have to have surgery first to repair a uterine septum first. I would highly recommend requesting a 3d ultrasound to make sure your uterus is in tip top condition before having the procedure done. I am convinced that was what brought us success because before having this done I kept having miscarriages. Good luck!

I'm sorry to say, it didn't :( I guess that shouldn't have been a big surprise, since fresh embryos from the same batch didn't "take" either, but it was still pretty upsetting.

My son, who is now six was a frozen embryo (IVF/ICSI) The frozen cycle was easier in the respect that you don't have to go through the shots and retrieval part. We did the transfer and the progesterone injections just like the fresh cycle. We had 3 embryos frozen, two made it through the thaw and my son was the result.

We're about to start a frozen cycle, so I don't really know yet, but then again I've only done half of an IVF cycle before -- I don't have ovaries anymore (I had ovarian cancer in my 20s), so my cycles have all been with donor eggs. What's happening now is I'm taking estrace and provera to bring on my period (which I don't normally have) and then I'll start taking more estrace and low-dose aspirin, then the progesterone injections, plus this time the dr is going to put me on fragmin and prednisone. Last cycle was unsuccessful, so he wants to "change it up" to see if that will work. So ... basically it seems like the second half of an IVF cycle, if that makes sense...
