I was curious if anyone else here had gotten tattoo(s) to remember their lost angels. Only 19 after my angel left, i got a tattoo on the top of my right foot. It says her name (Emmanuelle) then has a small anchor (to symbolize her father, who is in the Navy) and then the date she passed (September 24th, 2009)

I have been thinking about it, maybe even something that represents all my kids together. I really like your concept for the design.

My daughter passed away few days before she turned 6 months old. After the funeral her dad and I packed our bags and ran away for 4 days. While we were gone we both got tattoos, mine is of a pink duck with angel wings and a halo, and her father's is of a saying we always had for her "Hope is within the Heart" and her name then the date she was born and past. We also will be getting matching tats of her foot this week. My daughter Esabella passed on March 21, 2012

I have a small tatoo with my oldest daughters name (Nakota Lynn Jones) and birthdate (10/18/05) circling her zodiac sign (libra). She passed away 2/26/08 and I have her handprints from the hospital the day she passed, they are tattooed on my shoulder blades with "In loving memory" in between, so the enitre tattoo goes all the way across the top of my back.

Hi I personally don't have any tattoos but I wanna get one in honor of my son Adam who passed away on jan 3.12 but I am still not sure what to get but I am getting one on my upper back.

[deleted account]

I have one of an angel that is on my son's urn, it is with his name in fancy writing on my left shoulder so that it is over my heart, I am wanting to go in and get the dates of his birth and his passing as well, at the same time I am going in to get a tattoo to represent my son Bryce who is now 11 months old...I think the tattoo that I got to represent my first son Hayden really helped me deal with his death and see it as he was taken from me for a reason..

I lost my son on March 9, 2005 during birth due to a complete placental abruption. I was 33 weeks. (all 3 of my babies were preemies but my 2 girls survived).
I have 2 tattoos that symbolize him as well as my 2 daughters.
For Isaiah, I have a medium sized tat on my neck/upper back. I have his 1st name on my neck, a baby pixie with wings under it. Under those I have his birth & passing date curving under the pixie. Each date is under it as in 3-9-05 3-9-05.
I've had several miscarriages, including twins, so my girls are my absolute miracles.
I'm so sorry that you mommas have also had to experienced such horrendous unimaginable pain.

I also thought about it but not sure I am ready for a daily reminder. But it is hard to not feel you are doing enough to remember your little one.

My daughter was nearly 3 when she passed. My husband took her hospital footprints from her birth and had them tattooed onto hi chest, above his heart, withher name & dates on pink ribbons....it is beautiful. My sister had my daughter's likeness added to a carebear and tattooed onto her back. Hannah was going to be a pink rainbow carebear for halloween. Our car accident was halloween night, she never made it. I'm not into tatoos, but am thinking of having both of my girls names put on my left hand pointer finger, like a mother's ring.

I have a tattoo that I got about a year later after my little angel that passed away. Its reminds me she is always near and behind me every step of the way, even tho she in heaven. Its of a butterfly and has her name on it and the date of her birth and death. its on my lower part of my back and I am happy its there and i do not regret it one bit. It has helped me through the process of seeing my daughters death in a diff light.

This in my opinion one of the best was for a mom (& in some cases dads) toheal. when I had my daughter I got her actual footprints on my right calf & planned to do the same for my son on my left calf. Then i got a tribal butterfly. The first butterfly I picked out looked like as my friend says "a big bad bug" and nobody would let me get it so i got another one that looks like its fling. I had a really hard pregnancy even though it was short with my son. so when i was told he stopped growing, & i was luck to be alive bc he had past away weeks prior to finding out i lost him I knew I wanted a tattoo for him. That "big bad bug" was perfect bc to me it represents strength n he gave me strength n i no that there is a reason for everything. there was a reason my friend would not let me get it n this is y I named Him Angel Miguel I have the "big bad bug" with Angel curved over the top and Miguel curved on the bottom. Everyone told me it was a stupid idea n that i shouldnt do it. my reply was always he is my child n i always said i would get at least 1 tattoo for every child (live or not) my mom in law replied with so if u have 20 miscarrages ull get a tattoo for each one. u miswell get a list on ur back i dont care what anyone says get the tattoo in ur time it helps the healing process. i use to hold my tummy when i was thinkin of him. now i rub my neck my isabella his older sister nos who he is in a way when she sees the tattoo she say "Mommy Baby"

I got a tattoo with two hearts after I lost my babies, people always think it's for a partner though. I'm glad I did it as even now years later it still effects you and it's a way of remembering them.

i'm sorry to hear of all the losses.. i wish it wasn't as common to lose a baby/child as it seems to be.. :(
i had twin girls on november 22, 2004 and they passed away about an hour after they were born.. even though they were born 22 hours apart. i nearly died in the situation, and it tore me apart. i was 16 years old, and about 23 weeks when i went into labor prematurely. still not sure why and that hurts the most.. anyway, to help deal with the healing i've got angel wings on my lower back with a halo above them, in the center, and the date (11.22.04) with their initials.. MJ & RM... my beautiful baby angels.

Hi. I'm so sorry for your loss. My twin daughters were born prematurely when I was 5months and 1week this was 16/10/2010 they died shortly after being born. On 23/10/2010 I got a tattoo on my upper back, my 1st ever tattoo. I have a bow in the center of my back the word Angels above it and my daughters names below the tattoo. It was very important for me to get the tattoo, I feel like they are with me and that they have my back. My husband also got tattoos for them 2 teardrops on his face and Angel wings that cover his whole back. For us, it was some what of a healing process and provide comfort that they are with us. I hope that we have helped you in some way. p.s. My tattoo is my profile picture take a look.

my Son passed away when he was 19 days old. I have 2 other living children and the youngest (sorry its always difficult phrasing that casue i still kind of include my Angel baby as the youngest........maybe a new topic....) has always said Heaven (we named him Evan but Nick called him Heaven from day 1, while he was in my tummmy) was in the stars. I sing twinkle twinkle to all my boys here with me and up in Heaven before bed. My ex0 whos Evans father- left just before Evans first bday. tore me to peices, He then got a tattoo on the One year anniversury of Evans death and didn't even call to see how i was. The tattoo was supposed to be done together, i didn't get it out of respect and he goes and does it and its on a special day to have it done. I was extremly pissed, (sorry) he waited until the next day to say anything. So i got something that i wanted and didnt care what anyone thoguht. i have 19 stars spiraling up my right arm with the last one reperesenting Evans day as an angel with a halo. i have Serenity in chinese letters because my mom said the Serenity prayer over and over and its powerful. on my other wrist i have Lucas and Nickolas in the "shooting part of the star, and the star says "Evan"
so tattoos to me must have meaning. when they do they are priceless and worn with honor and pride.

I have a tattoo between my shoulder blades of my son's footprints (had them blown up 20% larger because they were too tiny) with his name William James over top of them. Then I got another tattoo of a frog with angel wings holding a flower in one hand and with the other hand giving the peace sign. In one picture I took of him his legs reminded me of a frog. It has helped me with dealing with my sons death. It has been 7 years now.

I have yet (1 1/2 yrs later) to get a tattoo for my step son. I have been sooo picky, and want it to be "perfect." When I come across what it will be, I will just know.
Although, his father (My BF and BD), got one within days of his son's passing. He had praying hands, in skeleton, on his forearm. Sounds wierd, but the most beautiful praying hands I have ever seen. When his son passed, he put his birthdate, and the day he left us, around the hands. It is simple, yet so beautiful! It also inspired him, within 2 wks, to have his other 2 children (My son and my other SS) put on his other forearm. They are really GREAT tattoos!

We love our tattoos...I remember saying...it's like he is once again in my life forever...like i had a small peace of him back somehow...
