We lost our son 5 weeks ago at 15 hours old to group b strep.

Has anyone else tested negative and still have their baby contract this horrible bacteria? GBS is very serious and can take a perfectly healthy baby very fast. When my son started to show signes of GBS it was only 5 hours later that we lost him. Our doctors and nurses did everything possible but it was to late.

I am so sorry for you loss. I have a darling nephew who survived strep B but he has been instituonalized for 30 years. It is so devastating to see him as a grown man, but who never developed past infancy.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.... I just lost my 2 month old son a few days ago (Feb 18). It's devastating. I don't even know how to live with myself. My son got UTI e coli, which spread to his brain..... If anything, I would think testing for GBS and UTI during pregnancy should be more vigilant. GBS should not be a one time test on week 36 because any woman can catch it during the next 2-4 weeks before giving birth. Or in my case I had UTI during pregnancy, but the dipstick showed that my urine is clear during delivery.... however, I don't think a dipstick is sufficient enough if someone has had uti close to delivery!!! There has to be a better uti test in this age and era for the woman giving birth...

Once again, I'm really really sorry for your loss and I can totally understand the storm of pain in your chest. If it makes you feel better, our babies are playing with each other and are in a better place.

I am so sorry for your lost...

I know how you feel...

I have loss my identical twin boys in july 25th last yr...

Jaden was still born n Kaden took a breath...

We had false alarm on TTTS and then i went to early labor...

Im not sure if i was tested for GBS but we were still unsure of what caused the babies to go into early labor...

Only god knows why n why he took them from us...

Untill now i still feel lost and depress, cry myself...

I hope you find peace in your heart and that godbless you with more blessings to come...have faith in him n things will be okay...im putting my faith in that aswell...
